Lightbulb Tank-o-matic modded to fit extra barbs

This is a quick set of pics from a 'mini-project' of mine that will hopefully form an integral part of a modding project that has taken me almost a year to get around to carrying out - not that im building it up to anything of course Anyway - i'm planning on using an old tank-o-matic thats sitting about. I wanted 2 pump outlets as im planning on using 2xMAG pumps - more about that at a later date.

    The tank-o-matic

Nice unmolested surface of the upper cap

The hard way to ream out enough aluminium for 2 1/2" barbs

End result Holes reamed for the barbs...

After araldite to exposed alu etc to finish off - the end product

Any comments? Not perfect, but it should work ok - In summary im planning on using 2xMAG pumps in parallel - each needs an input from the res, so my res will need 2x outputs. At the top im planning on having 2 inputs to the res - 1 from the rad and the other from a filport.

Looking good, I really want to get round to watercooling one of my PCs, but I need one worthy of time/money/effort spent on it

Might want to consider some barbs other than copper, depending what your blocks are. That or more additive, youve got some fairly seriosu corrosion going on there.

Otherwise it looks pretty nifty. What case is it going in?

I would be wary about using CSP-Mags, I have had two and they both died after a few months. They are quiet and small but the flow rate is pretty low so depending on how restrictive your system is they may not be great.

I bought a Laing DDC-12v Plus and it is slightly bigger but has 50% more flow and is only slightly noisier. Might be worth looking into if you haven't already bought the CSP-Mags.

Thanks for the comments guys - herulach, i agree about the corrosion, i had the tank-o-matic lying around not doing much, so i thought i'd play with it! Dark horse, again, its because i had the MAG's hanging around, im thinking of running 2 loops (hence the 2 oulets from the res) but i had considered the flow rate problem...

I'm really torn between cases at the moment, was thinking of a Mountain mods case (as there is a lot of WC stuff to fit in) or otherwise a lian li pc70/v2000. What do you guys reckon?

that really impressive looking mate a very tidy job

as for a case i dont think you'd go far wrong with either of the Lian Li's you mentioned, although im a total sucker for the big coolermaster stackers

Youll struggle to fit it in a stacker i reckon. My stuff was a tight squeeze, had to get shot of the res i planned on using and go for a t-line set up.

A Mountain Mods case would be veeery swish good luck with it! You're credit card may take a bashing if you go with them though..

Lian Li G70 has plenty of space for everything, including a triple rad in the top or bottom.
