Woo! First thread!

Anyway, I thought we should perhaps compile a list of high-street stores currently taking PS3 pre-orders.

According to what I know, these stores are taking pre-orders:

- GAME

These are said to be taking orders from people on other forums:

- Argos
- HMV
- Choices
- Woolworths
- WHSmith
- Currys
- PC World

I cannot confirm these, as I haven't been into those stores myself, but if someone else can, do post.
If you hear of anywhere else, post it up and I'll add it to the list.

HMV have apparently withdrawn the requirement to buy a PSP with the pre-order, so I've removed that.

Also, there is a rumour that GAME will start taking orders on Saturday. Some customers who have registered their interest have been contacted it seems.

GAME have just phoned me to say they will start taking pre-orders from lunchtime tomorrow. I've updated the list.

UPDATE: Just been and pre-ordered. I'm 15th in line.

Turns out that they start taking orders from the moment they get the deposit books. GAME say after 12 because some stores don't get deliveries until later in the day. My local had been taking orders since opening. They expected a rush after lunch, as that is what they were telling people.

Also, I got information that GAME has told the stores to expect around 30-40 units each. Numbers may fluctuate depending on demand. He also said that some stores had NO orders yet.

If you want to order from GAME, do it NOW!!!

Yeah, those bundles are pretty insane. A 2 game bundle would be better, and the ability to pick your own games for it would be great. The 2 launch games I want are Resistance and F1, and no-one has combined those 2 in a bundle yet.

Anyway, there could be another topic for on-line preorders (this was just for in-store ones), as there are many places taking orders now. This thread hasn't been as popular as I was expecting, so another one may be just as quiet.

I can confirm that Amazon and Woolworths ar both taking ( or were at 1.40) online orders - Amazon offering Console on its own and Woolies offering with 1 or 2 games. Have tentativley pre ordered 2 (1 for my brother) - will be interested to see what the uptake is like

Despite all of my better intentions I have pre-ordered! Not sure why and not sure what games I will get. May actually cancel it.

at the weekend all the stores in my hometown still had ps3 on preorders open. Talked to a friend at gamestation and he said there wasnt a strong demand for the ps3.

Still tempted to get one.(Hong kong 1 )

Amazon are still taking Pre-Orders. One wonders if they have the stock to send out (as mine says will be delivered 3 days after - super saver delivery). They state they will stop taking pre orders when they have run out of pre order stock.

With a game and with a Good hdmi cable youre looking at £480

Amazon are on and off with the pre-orders. They get an extra allocation from Sony, they sell out, then they ask for more.

Anyway, I'm short of solid info for the first post. If anyone can post a place where they've made a pre-order (apart from GAME), I'll add it.

P.S. I'm only listing high-street stores, not online shops.

Are Sony shipping loads over, or is there simply not much demand?
Everywhere is still offering guaranteed delivery pre-orders just 3 weeks ahead of launch. I can't recall it was like that with the PSP/DS/360 or Wii, maybe Sony might get the launch done smoothly!

I heard its not selling that great in the US so maybe they'll be pulling units from stores there and adding them to the UK shipping?
