Rumour: MGS4 To Come to 360

It has been reported that in the Official Xbox 360 magazine, MGS4 will only be a time exclusive for the PS3.

Could this spell the end for Sony and it's so called exclusive games line up.

MGS4, Killzone 2 and Final Fantasy are the main pull factors for me to get a PS3. If this is true, the likelihood of my getting one has just decreased dramatically

I cant see this happening tbh.. as much as MS wants these titles.. I can't see how they're going to the MS X360 anytime soon, unless MS pays a heap for them (ok.. maybe quite likely if Billy really wants it..)

perhaps in a couple of years.. just like MGS2 came to the PC.. but I wont bite myself assuring that it'll arrive in the near future..

It may come to the 360, but not for some time after the PS3 version. To be honest I don't see why people make such a fuss over the Metal Gear Solid games, yes, I was uber impressed by the original PSX game, it offered something truely original and epic where the outcome of the game was influenced by your actions in it and it's use of real time rendered cut scenes was a breath of fresh air, particulary for a japanese game where masses of FMV are the norm (Final Fantasy VII anyone?). But to be honest I found MGS 2 & 3 to just be a re-hashed version of Metal Gear Solid, offering little in the way of something new and innovative and even worse I didnt find the stories to be as engaging either.

Lets be honest, Sony are struggling with killer apps, next gen games are proving to be very expensive to produce which means that platform exclusives are few and far between compared to the last couple of generations of console and as Microsoft allegedly give publishers the best deals for platform exclusive content and the fact that the 360 has the biggest installed user base means that of the limited amount of exclusive content that there is a large proportion will be on the 360. Sony's arrogance which has been apparent throughout the last couple of years has done them no favours, the PS3 is selling poorly, they lack decent exclusive content, thier console is far too expensive, they are not prepared to do what is nessarcery to secure exclusive content (previously they relied on thier position of market leader to do so, that won't work now, unless they want exclusives for the PS2!).

The cost of the PS3 is way to high for me to justify one, Tekken or not (which is the PS2 game I enjoyed the most).

It's not really a PS3 exclusive since there is no contract that means Konami can't go and make it on other platforms like there is with some of the 360's exclusives. It's just Konami decided they'd make MGS4 for the PS3 first and then possibly port to other consoles in the future. It could be a downfall for the game since the PS3 has a very low userbase, and plenty of developers are worried about making a game PS3 exclusive. I'm sure MGS4 will shift a few consoles though, don't know why, it's not that good a series.

well if it does go on the 360 than surely thats ps3's final nail in teh coffin for them??? all MS need to do is sort out there reliability of the console

Only if it comes out at the same time on the 360, I know a lot of people won't wait for a 360 version to come out.

I played MGS 3 (? Last one on PS2 anyhow) and wasn't that impressed, it was the same but with jungle and went on for ages, just like the previous ones I guess but sometimes I think its just good to let a franchise fizzle out.

Konami are considering it due to the bad sales performance of the PS3 in the West, where MGS is particularly popular. Latest news in CVG is that a 'bankable source' tells them that a 360 version has already been started on.

I thought Squeenix had decided that they'd release the "final fantasy XIII series" on all platforms a long time ago, i.e. each console gets it's own game in the same universe but with a different story and characters?

Well their plan worked!! they've probably sold more copies of that mag than any other month with that question on front cover, cus thats all it is, a question! until hideo announces it then your all have to carry on watching ps3 vids. They say its timed but mgs3 snake eater has'nt arrived yet!!
