Has anybody been playing the new Annex gametype on Gears of War? The new gametype was made available by the auto update earlier today and I'm finding it to be a lot of fun!

By adding respawn, it's almost a whole new game. Relentless action with a lot of good tactical work required. I was on it for quite a while earlier today and really enjoyed it.

Not tried it as yet Parm, and in all honesty completely forgot about the new downloadable content.

No problem Carl, I'm usually on at odd times myself but when I do plan on hosting a nice long session, I send invites to all on my friends list incase anybody wants to join.

I gave this a go briefly yesterday and was very impressed. My only niggle is I played it on raven down and I can't stand that map! I agree with what you say about it being tactical, it was very much a case of always telling team mates who was approaching the point, and from what sides.

For the most part yesterday I had two mates on my team so we were coming up with some great ideas. When the circle on the map only had about 10 seconds left, all 3 of us would leave it and split up in the hope that one of us would randomly be going toward the next circle. As a result we almost always got to the next one before the other team.

Didn't help that I couldn't remember the controls at the beginning

Spent the first few games trying to re-figure out how to switch weapons

Anyone know if you can get the achievements in non-ranked matches now? I heard they were changing it so you didn't have to be in a ranked match to get the kill achievements.

I played this for a bit yesterday. I loved it and the fact that you respawn really does make it feeel like a new game. As I understand though, playing ranked doesnt count towards acheivments.

On the subject of GOW, how do I play two players without a hard drive. Keeps asking for storage device to create profile? Can I use an external usb stick to save profiles?

I'm not sure but I'm guessing you just play split screen on the one console with a second player signing in as guest?
