Has anyone else played Elite Beat Agents?

    Just wondering..

It is possibly the best underrated game ever for the DS, for those who haven't heard of it - you play as a group of "agents" who have to save the world through the power of music. It's a rhythm action game a bit like guitar hero so you whack circles on the touch pad in time to the music.

As far as i know the (insert expletive)'s only released it in the US and Japan, as obviously we Europeans are too clever to appreciate it.

The genius is partly the fact that the songs are all well known (but covered), things like "YMCA", "The Anthem", "Material Girl" and stuff from Jamiroquai and The Rolling Stones as well. I've played it solidly for the past month or so and it's still going strong (i've beaten the last difficulty, so it's more playing with mates and getting high scores now).

I would seriously recommend this to anyone who's either going to the 'States or would consider importing/buying from eBay..

    Coupla vids:

Last Level Uber Difficulty [spoilers - just stop the vid after the song ends if you don't want to see the cutscene]: http://youtube.com/watch?v=tao7bqOxe0M

    An more mundane level: http://youtube.com/watch?v=K7Ys2qFinXc

(those are on very hard difficulty, it is a lot easier at lower levels )

Yeah - played it but got bored after a while. Definitely innovative but longevity wasn't high for me. Currently playing Cake Mania which is pretty good - definitely gets the brain cell going as you try to multi-task on this one.....

I know what you mean about best underrated game. But you should really check out the original game which was only released in Japan. Its called "Osu, Tatakae, Ouendan!" Ok the game is completely in japanese, and only japanese soundtrack but I just feel the game is alot better. It could be because I played this version first.

Completely different stories, the only similarity being that you touch the buttons and do the ring thing in synch to the music.

[Edit] Oh yes!! Just seen that they are releasing a sequel to Osu, Tatakae, Ouendan! I'm soo buying that game!! Linky here:

A friend of mine buys his games from videogamesplus and imports in his ds games. They mark down the value of whatever you buy and says its a gift when they send it so you don't pay import tax

Elite Beat Agents is available: http://www.videogamesplus.com/

And its only £17.33 excluding any delivery since I'm not yet a member, I can't tell you how that will be. May order myself tommorow.
