A quickie about streaming with tversity...

basically, after a lot of fart arsing about and following various guides i got tversity working and have been able to stream everything across to my 360 from my xp computer, this is great but it is streaming wirelessly, which can sometimes mean loading times are a lil slow and videos can occasionally get a bit choppy, i know i can turn the quality down to put less strain on the stream but if i can avoid that i'd be happy,

basically what im trying to get at is, is it possible to use an ethernet cable from my computer to my 360 for media streaming purposes while still using the wireless adaptor for xbox live. im sure the pc wont have problems with recieving the internet wirelessly while streaming media via the ethernet port but i was wondering about the 360.

the reason i ask is my computer and 360 are in the same room, so a lead is a good option whereas my cable modem is downstairs so a wireless router is used.

im guessin that i could use ics for the 360 but i wouldnt want to have to have my computer on everytime i want to connect to live and also the overpriced wireless adaptor would have been a waste of money!!

But the question is - can you use TVersity wired?

I don't think you can, I think the whole thing is designed to transfer wirelessly, but I could be wrong.

As a plan B, would buying a DivX compatible DVD player sort your problem. You can pick them up for as little as £40.

XBOX 1 softmodded with XBMC on it can be had for less than £40, and that will play anything.

theres a few interestign suggestions here but to be honest id rather know if i can achieve my target with the stuff i have, rather than getting an original xbox or a divx player

as for tversity wired, yup im pretty sure u can

but the question is can the 360 work simultaniueously with the wireless adaptor recieving an internet connection while the ethernet recieves media being streaming from my computer.

I think the 360 only has one network interface, therefore you can only use one at a time.

BTW - I'd never heard of Tversky before reading this. I've had so much grief trying to stream using MS media player 11 that I gave up. This, however, worked first time and is stable.

i even looked into this yesterday, i could find splinter cell for a pound but as for an action replay, couldnt get one cheap otherwise i would of done this aswell. my original xbox sits there collecting dust, would be fun to try this.

shame it looks as though i cant simultanieously use both network interfaces at once then

just gonna have to keep streaming media wirelessly.
