    DS Lite - US version

I'm thinking of buying my daughter a DS Lite from the US of A, and wanted to know if games bought here would work OK on it ?
Is it like the whole NTSC/PAL thing, or does that not count for these little handhelds ?

    Any help appreciated

DS lites are region free, problems only occur when you play Wi-Fi multiplayer (same room Wi-Fi, not over the net) mixing US and UK bought games.

May I ask why you don't just buy a UK version as I think the US / UK prices are pretty much the same?

Exactly, not sure if you connect to the same servers if playing WiFi over the internet though?

The hardware doesnt affect the WiFi - its the games that do..and not all of them either

Some of them ( I think Mario Kart is a good example ) don't let you play with people from another region..however I am totally unsure of if this is based on the cart itself, or the location of your machine.

Its definitely cheaper to buy a DS abroad anyhow, I paid 250chf for mine including Mario64 while I was in Switzerland over a year ago now, which works out as about £100-£110..I imagine they are even cheaper these days.

I'd pay the extra £10 or so to have one with a UK guarantee though, no telling when the screen hinge will snap, as they tend to do.
