Safe to use a DVD player lens cleaner in my 360?

I've been playing Forza 2 for a couple of weeks now with no problems. With in the last couple of days I've had 2 "Can't read disc" errors. I've cleaned the disc with a proper disc cleaner and there are no scratches on it at all. So as the disc is fine I guess it must be my xbox acting up a little.

I was just wondering if it's safe to use a DVD player lens cleaner in an 360? Can't see why it would not be, but you never know.

I don't see why not, there's nothing that different about them to other players. Give it a go!

It does say in one of the 360 manuals that you shouldn't use a lens cleaner on it. There is a thread about Disc read errors and particularly Forza 2. Are all your other games working ok?

Think it must be something to do with the manufacturing process.

I was wondering this the other day. I've been using my 360 vertically recently (due to space restrictions) and I noticed a slight build up of dust on the bottom of the disc tray (I get read errors occasionally on a few different games) and thought that might be problem with the read errors

Yeah I've out my 360 vertically, and the number of DRE's I've been getting has increased a lot, I have a bad feeling it's not dust but the cheap laser doesn't cope well with being vertical.

Thanks for the heads up The only other games I have are PGR3 and GoW, not played either of them much and no where near as much as I'm playing Forza 2, so I can't really say if they are getting the error's. I had a 4 hour session on FM2 yesterday with no problems. I'll see how it goes.

My Xbox is horizontal and always has been. Just though I'd share that with you
