Stupid gamerscore w**res

A thread so we can all complain about the gamerscore wh**es. The achivements are an excellent idea but if you are going to use game saves to do them, that completely defies the point! I mean why do that when you can spend time doing it yourself getting more out of the game and get your money's worth!

back on topic, i really couldn't give a toss about game scores, but if it keeps people who are happy then so be it. perhaps shayneyp cares too much about something that means so little?

Im with MadduckUK - Im a noob to this xbox 360 thing but I really dont care about my score and care even less about other peoples! Though I was playing some Gears the other day and some cok-tear was getting in a right old state complaining about his score...

the only people who are going to have super high scores are ones that play mainly single player, finish the game and then move on. games like forza2 and when it arrives Halo3 are going to take up SO much time that while you may get all the game*******, youv been playing it for 6,7,8 months. and it that time people who are aiming just to get that number up have gone through 10 or more other games.

so in a sentence.. "getting the most out of a multiplayer game means your gamerscore will be crap"

also. saying "g a m e r p o i n t s" is censored?

I'm an achievement addict, although I'll never buy a game I know I wont like or anything like that. I think of it as an extra challenge, they put the achievements there, so I'm gonna try my best to get them all (unless of course, getting one would mean lots of...un-fun, then I won't bother).

Personally I don't care what score the rest of the world has, I just like the way it lets games give you a few extra story irrelevant things to aim for.

Yeah I like me gamer points, though I don't game save that's just pointless. Quite proud of me 970 points in Forza 2. It adds an extra element to certain games, like Crackdown. I had just as much, if not more, fun doing some of those with a mate online as I did playing singleplayer.

No it's just idots on live who brag their score 24/7. Just does my head in. I just think achievements are a way of getting more for your money, also gives you more determination to win online if some achivements are " Win 50 ranked matches."

Yes. It's incredibly lame. Fairly easy to spot them on sites like MyGamercard, all of the top ranked "players" use them.

well according to a site called maxconsole when u download a saved game it doesnt increase your achievements

I like the acvhievements, it gives a good level of competition between me and my friends. I haven't really heard anyone moaning/bragging about their score online though...maybe because I'm in recreation.

its a good way to make people get more use out of the game though, instead of just finishing the game and leaving it to one side

Yeah, I found it gave me a reason to get back into Oblivion. Finally got all the achievements (except for those in the expansion pack) nearly a year after I first started playing.
