    Re: Bioshock

Took about 7 hours to d/l.. went pretty speedy, got to 45% within an hour, but the last 55% took another 6 hours.. which i partly put down to BTinternet and their appaling traffic shaping.

but OMG this game is awesome!!! the atmosphere really is spot-on.. the sounds, the reflections, creaks and dripping water in the background.. and the little girl singing

Im soooooo gonna pick this up when it hits the shelfs...

    Re: Bioshock

I had to work from home this morning whilst waiting for the insurance assessor (screw those that damage my cars!) and played through the demo. Very nice, great atmosphere and of course the visuals are spot on. I particularly enjoyed the splicer chat. I'd like to get this on PC if possible - I only have a single core though (A64 4000+) but an 8800GTS. Bring on the PC demo so I can place my pre-order!

I was very impressed, I was a bit skeptical till I began playing, what a superb start! I loved how there are so many different ways of dispatching of an enemy! The security robots are a nice touch as well

    Re: Bioshock

I'm going to be buying this first on 360 for 37" screen goodness, then pick it up on PC once the price has dropped like a stone and there are mods about.

    Re: Bioshock

For those not convinced from the demo it is for you, bare in mind that the first few levels (the ones presented in the demo) are a lot more linear than the later levels -- as to teach you game elements. So if you're looking for a very non-linear FPS this will be one for you once it opens up later on .

I thought as much, from watching some game videos from stuff like E3 the game was supposed to be very open, but I was surprised by the linearity of the demo and came to the conclusion that it was hopefully just a tutorial level to get the player used to the game mechanics.

    Re: Bioshock

If the bits and bobs aren't a must have for you I'd just download steam at steampowered and get it from there you can pre-purchase it and download it to your system and then play it as soon as it is released
