Any decent Wii racing games?

After getting myself a lovely new Wii and playing Sports/Play/Mario Party/Big Brain Academy, I'm looking for a decent racing game.

Are there any good ones out there yet? I've seen a few on sale, but have no idea if they're any good or not.

need for speed carbon wasn't the greatest of games on the wii that i played but of what i played it was quite enjoyable. if that helps any

Excite truck is fun as a game that isn't just about coming first

should be easy to pick up cheap too

Yeah, Mario Kart's on my waiting list too. Someone else has recommended excite truck to me as well, so if I can get it cheap I may well invest in that.

And I really need to stop sticking my fingers up at my Wii Sports Tennis opponents every time I make a good shot

I've heard excite truck is great fun to play, but if your a fan of "racing games" (like gran turismo etc) its probably not exactly what you are looking for

Mario Kart will be the daddy, January seems so long away not really anything decent though,

GT Pro Racing - poor
NFS - ok
Excite Truck - Fun but not great

i still have and use my N64, used purely for mario kart64, goldeneye and banjo kazooie (great game if you have not played it)

I downloaded Mario Kart 64 on the wii and I was a bit disappointed to be honest, having played the DS and gamecube versions. Its a classic but not quite up to scratch nowadays IMHO.

Ok mario kart64 wasnt the best as that has to be given to the SNES version
