Yes. Hard Drive, component cables etc etc are much more expensive separately and the HD is pretty much compulsory now.
Not around too often!
ok thanks.
Looking to get one this weekend but can't decide what game to get with it (not Halo 3, after playing Halo 2 from start to finish I thought it was totaly crap!)
Sega Rally looks good as does Bio shock and GoW

BioShock is a really good game, but has no replayability after completion (which should take about a week of solid playing).
GoW is a great game and the multiplayer is really fun and addictive (provided everyone hasn't moved on to Halo now).

I really like Halo 3, never played the first ones, always had a PS2.
If you like sport, Tiger Woods and Pro Evo Soccer are brilliant. Assassin's Creed looks really good. And GTA IV will be immense!
Forza 2 is a good driving game.
GOW was good but I traded it in after completing it.

yes, the premium is well worth getting. the core isn't hd until you open your wallet, and you can't save until you open the wallet again. and it's not wireless until, gasp, wallet time.
games to play:
* viva pinata
* bioshock
* dead rising
* pgr (4 is due soon, 3 is still fun though)
* overlord
* gears of war
* oblivion
thanks guys. I 'll see what deals I can get on the highstreet at the weekend.
Looks like either BioShock or GoW. When PGR4 comes out I will get it.

I think you can get a premium for around £250 with a game these days - not sure what games though.
I got mine from HMV and took out one of their gamer points cards, which I then used to knock some money off it. I think I might have blagged student discount on it as I was doing a night course at the time.

I wonder if eBay is any good for this kind of stuff?

other good games, many of which should be quite cheap by now
Guitar Hero 3
Burnout Revenge
Condemned
Crackdown
The Darkness
Kameo

Burnout is much more fun than Project Gotham. I'd get Burnout Revenge, and that will keep you going till BurnOut Paradise comes out early next year. Gotham 4 should be good though.
Really, you'd have to be a bit slow to get BioShock over Halo3. If you clock Halo3 you've only just started, clock BioShock and you might as well flog it.
Might be worth checking Play.com - they are currently selling the premium for £199.99 inc delivery.
With regard games the ones I would recommend are as follows:
Burnout Revenge (Burnout Paradise out in Dev tho)
Call Of Duty 4 when its out - the beta MP is fun
Rainbow 6 Vegas - comes into its own online
Viva Pinata
Gears Of War
Test Drive Unlimited
With the 3RLOD problems it might not be worth it. I got my Premium from eBay and when it died luckily the previous owner hadn't registered it. If you get it brand new from a shop it'll be much easier to get a replacement. I got my Elite from Game solely because I knew there'd be no hassles taking it back if anything did happen.
blockbuster sell 2nd hand ones wit ha warrenty, you also get the MS extended gtee. I was looking at going that route but ended up getting an elite with Halo 3, you should get a good trade in value for H3 if you dont like it. Alos purchased Ghost recon advanced war fighter, gears of way ,pgr 3, all cheap from blockbusters used section.
ANother reason to get one with a hard drive is that thers loads of demos of retial and arcade games you can try before splashing any cash.
Yup Blockbuster, got mine with 3 games (PGR 3, GoW and Pro Evo 6) for £195, is in brilliant condition.
Then bought myself Halo 3 and Crackdown. Both great games.
