Sending Wii back for repair, anyone done this?
I bought my bro a Wii for Chrimbo (brand new from play.com), 1 week later and it's borked. At first it started making grinding noises (like it was struggling to read the disc) but worked fine, however it's got gradually worse and is now throwing up disc read error screens constantly. This is on all games he's tried (Wii Sports, Guitar Hero 3 and SMG). If you're lucky it might eventually work if you keep resetting, but it's pretty much crapped out. Has anyone had experience sending their Wii to Nintendo for repair? Is it a decent turnaround? I thought they were rock solid (mines been faultless for over a year), but I guess some people are going to be unlucky eventually.

Mine threw it up twice, once was 50/50 on the godfather, once is rarely on eledees.
Not had any other problems aside from garbled interface though (sometimes playing on EDTV (480p) the screen just goes to crap, I think the warranty is up on it though.....might just get my housemate to send it back as it was his lol

Nintendo are usually excellent with RMA's, and IIRC they come with 2 years warranty as standard, not one (They used to, not sure if its changed :))

Their service centre number is constantly engaged... I guess now is probably their busiest time of the year :/ Wished I had bought his Wii from a high-street store, I would have just gone back and got a refund / exchange!
Re: Sending Wii back for repair, anyone done this?
I took my Wii to our New Years 2007 party and it started playing up. At one point it would not play a single game.
I then reset the entire machine (losing all saved games :( -> no cards) and it started working again. However, I still get the odd error saying an error has occurred.
Horrible feeling I shall be sending mine off soon...

Nintendo replaced my Wii within a week of me sending it off for graphical corruption.
