Anyone else having a problem with XBL?

Last night I tried to recover my profile to my GF's xbox but was greeted with,

"XBL sign up is currently unavailable. Please try again later"

So I gave up on that. This morning when trying to use my own xbox I was told that I need to recover my profile as it had been recovered on another xbox. I'm still getting the same message about sign up being down and now I can't recover my profile to my xbox even though it's there in full, untouched on the HDD.

Is anyone else out there having problems with XBL at the moment?

Yeh, they're having some issues at the moment. Luckily, I'm travelling back from Devon to Brighton, so hopefully they'll have it sorted by the time I get back from work tonight..... I want some COD4 action

yes they are having problems. since the dashboard update. it takes ages to sign into xbox live with my gamertag

i am having problems with mine trying to change my email address on it and cant download the pes 2008 demo wither all others are fine

I wouldn't bother with the demo of PES2008 unless you intend to play solely offline anyways.

pes2008 is not worth it anyway. i do think the demo plays better then the retail though. try fifa and see if you enjoy that

I was playing CoD4 last night until about 11pm when it started stating I needed an active connection, but still let me play for another half hour. Then it took about 5 minutes to sign back into XBL, but CoD4 wouldn't work. Still a bit slow now to sign in, but at least CoD4 has stopped complaining.

Tried again a few minutes ago to get my profile back and it worked

Played cod4 for a while last night but not late enough to notice any problems.

Mine signs me out randomly for some reason. It's lame Ever since the update.

pes2008 is not worth it anyway. i do think the demo plays better then the retail though. try fifa and see if you enjoy that

I am having problems again. I guess the US has woken up or something. CoD4 games are hanging at "Balancing teams..." and I was getting lag spikes in games just before it. Now I'm in the same situation as last night. I can understand the problems I suppose, but it's annoying as I have to move back to work next week and thanks to BT's mess (6 months to put a phone line in, and then I won't be their for another 12 months to get a contract, but that's another rant ), this is the only time time I can play online.

I've been terying to actually join XBL for the past 3 nights and have yet managed to get connected. Console got updated and restarted fine, then when I selected to join mine also came up with "XBL sign up is currently unavailable. Please try again later"

Its a known problem. Apparently there working hard as possible to get it fixed. Yeah right ...

At 7pm for the last 3 nights now, I have lost connection to XLB and can't sign back in. Tiscali don't block XBL during peak hours do they? Just seems to be about the same time each night so far.
