I have played skate, I don't like it
would be why I am going to think about getting tony hawks, I don't care about realism in those games. If I wanted realism I would go home, get my skateboard and use words such as 'gnarly' and 'oarsome'

I'm old skool enough to own (untill recently) a skateboard with only one kicktail

I just like Tony Hawk games as to me they are about the outrageous tricks, I find that more fun than trying to pull off a kickflip with 50% chance of falling over lol

    Is it worth getting one?

    I already have:
Decent Gaming pc (with 24" 1920x1200 monitor as said before)
Nintendo Wii (connected by component to monitor)
    Nintendo DS Lite
Probably not at the moment to be fair mate - I bought mine as a Christmas treat, and I have Perfect Dark Zero (tosh), Halo 3 (Most over rated game of all time), PES 6 (It was £3!!!) Forza 2 (alright game), Viva Pinyata (Nice for the missus) and Rainbow 6 Vegas (Absolutely great game - played it start to finish and loved it).

And that's it. I really don't play it a lot at all, in fact my N64 gets more of my time.
It's worth thinking about whether or not you'll use it enough to justify it, especially if you have a good PC.

Don't get any Tony Hawks games. Only people who say dude buy Tony Hawks games.

    You can do better.

Burnout is more fun than PGR btw. Less real, but more fun.

I try to boycott EA wherever possible, I was angry (to put it mildly) with the in game advertising on burnout 3, although I want to play PGR3/4 to see what it is like too though, probs rent it first

    Re: 360...is it worth it

A 360 is great for gaming, but if you play most of your games on your pc then it may not be worth it (as Bazzlad said).

I was also very tempted to shell out for a 360, but since I do most of my gaming on the pc I instead shelled out for a ps3. The ps3 offers me a blu ray player which is quite useful to me as I watch a lot of movies plus I'm on tesco dvd rental which allowes me to rent blu rays disks as well dvds.

I play most of my games on the PC and have done for years. But my son (honest) has a 360 and he loves it. I cannot get away with the game pad for FPS but love the driving games such as Forza 2 and PGR.

    Re: 360...is it worth it

I've got a kick ass gaming PC. 3GHz C2D, 8800GT, 4GB RAM. I got my Xbox at hte end of Nov last year and haven't played my PC since. I haven't even completed COD4 on it and i'm on the last level! what an eejit.

The thing is that you get achievements on Xbox. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, they become VERY addictive! That's right i'm an a gamerscore whore!

(current score is from my new revised account created in mid January) (used to be Lord Midas 1 - which was pants... long story)

    SKATE FTW!

Much better than Tony Hawks and the controls are strange, yet easy to pick up but really, really, really, really, really, hard to master.

It's an EA game, but get over it because the way they are going they are going swallowing all the games developers means that in the future more games are going to be coming from under the EA umbrella. Yes they bring out some games which are not to standard half the time, but once in a blue-moon a good game appears.
