    Burnout Paradise

I picked this up a few weeks ago and have fallen in love with it. Its the 1st game I've bought since about July (when my xbox died and gathered dust).

Does anyone else play this online? I was quite surprised to find that this is untalked about here. Would of thought it'd be quite popular in the Hexus crowd.

    Re: Burnout Paradise

Everyone who has it is probably too busy playing to post.
I've loved every second of it. It's the first game in a long while which I've actually wanted to get 100% completion on.
Played online tons as well; it's so easy to hop on with friends for a few challenges/races and drop back into single player seamlessly. I've got it on PS3 tho, unfortunately...

    Re: Burnout Paradise

I've only recently started playing it, not online yet, but so far I'm well impressed.

I love the slo-mos when you crash and the takedown challenges

I want crashes, i dont want to have to drive forever to retry an event or change my car. I dont want to realize half way through a race ive taken a wrong turn and i want to murder DJ Atomica. Music and graphics are good though, adam ant FTW!

I havent played it recently due to being busy with uni work. Don't know about you but I'm quite a fan of the online challenges, drifting x amount of meters, jumping over each others cars etc. Be up for a session online one evening with some other hexus users to get some more done! 350 I think to achieve!

    Re: Burnout Paradise

There's been lots of talk about this over in the sony forums, been playing for a while now nearly done all the online challenges and done 58% 34hrs on single player.
This is def the best burnout, its suited to the open city and if you do want to finish an event early just stop the car and the events gone away plus there's plenty more about rather than drive back to the same one, although not for burning routes but tbh i know the city so well now it only takes a few minutes to get to the other side of the city.
I trying stunt runs that require 1/2 a million now.

    Re: Burnout Paradise

i just bought this baby after a recommendation from Gtech and i cant believe that it lives up to every bit of hype (which i earlier doubted) even online its smooth as a baby's bum!
im still a rookie at it but i followed one chap last night to a summit and watched him boost off the edge ramp and hit 5 barrel rolls like it was just another day . . my face dropped! and when i tried it . . . . . i had a flapjack as a car!

    Re: Burnout Paradise

lol, that must of been at the mine, you can get some good barrel rolls of there. You wait till you've made the jump through the eye of the mountain, that feels good!! As for the music, there is about 3 tracks that are any good, the rest is rock crud. I got 80 events to finish before i get my Burnout Elite license.

    Re: Burnout Paradise

Rock crud? Having a soundtrack with these bands on it has to be good. Alice in Chains, Adam Ant, Guns n Roses, Fath No More, Janes Addiction, Soundgarden, Depeche Mode, ok thats it, the rest is as you say, rock crud.

    Re: Burnout Paradise

Faith No More - Epic - good track,
Depeche Mode - Route 66 (Beatmasters Mix) good remix
Guns N' Roses - Paradise City - it's ok, for the start of the game
Junkie XL feat. Lauren Rocket - Cities In Dust - good track

there's a couple of original burnout tracks that are ok, but the rest are Rock crud, I dunno maybe i'm being too hard......Rock fudge, there you go.

    Needs more Breakbeat in there.

    Re: Burnout Paradise

I did try to get Steven to add Burnout Paradise to the list of games to look forward to, when he made one a few months ago, but he was more interested in various LEGO games.

I want crashes, i dont want to have to drive forever to retry an event or change my car. I dont want to realize half way through a race ive taken a wrong turn
Then don't re-try events, if you fail, just start an event near you. If you only have a few events to go, then you should be good enough by then that you don't fail very much. They did think of this.

I do feel sorry for anyone playing this on the PS3 though - no custom sound tracks. So that means listening to the 95% crap music it comes with.

    Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad move Sony.

    Re: Burnout Paradise

I spent the past weekend abusing my mates xbox360 playing burnout paradise. only 60 ish races left till elite class.

Online is a real laugh, doing the challenges, taking each other down for a laugh, entering showtime during a challenge (to wind up your mates)...the mugshots you get when you take someone down are great too. We were setting random things up infront of the webcam.

We've not hit 5 barrel rolls yet, nearly landed 3 (abit over zealous and did 3 and 1/4 and wrecked out), though stunt runs aren't high on the game type, races, road rage and burning routes are the popular ones (for me).

I think we only need 14 more cars to collect as well (we got a car for doing a number of 2 player challenges, caron something or another 8...looks like a lemans type car).

The Airport is a great place for some stunt fun and there is also a massive jump near the quarry/mine too (flat spin/barrel roll heaven).

I did get bored near the end though, just left with event's I'm not too enamoured with.

    Re: Burnout Paradise

I've got the Elite licence now, just got some of the online achievements to do.

3x Barrel Roll is my best, but I've landed on my roof a few times when I would have got 4-5 if I'd levelled it out.

All the events are easy really once you know what to do.

Race - fast car, pause a lot and look at map.

Road Rage - Van (upgraded version), very easy.

Marked Man - Police car, *slow down*, use auto-repairs.

Stunt Run - Use a speed car, get to some open ground before the time runs down, start drifting in a circle, wait until you have enough points. I tend to do this as the stunt runs are crap.

Burning Route - Drive fast. Crazy I know, but it works.

Elite is time consuming, but its not hard to do.

lol, oh know, you have a long memory.

I'll have to admit, perhaps it did deserve a place.
