E74 error code under extended warranty?

I guess it had to happen at some point, I've been lucky up until now and had no problems with my Xbox until last night.

I was playing Army of Two last night when I had a very bad case of artifacts, like when I GFX card is dying on a PC. I went back to the dashboard and all looked fine so I loaded the game back up and straight away it was bad again. I turned the 360 off and on and that's when I was met with the E74 error screen.

I wondering if it's possible to get it repaired under the extended warranty, I think that's only for the 3 RROD though. I have read on other forums while I was searching for some information on the error that they have sent theirs off with an E74 error and still had it fixed ok. Has anyone on here had their 360 fixed for anything other than the 3 RROD under the extended warranty? My 360 is just over 2 years old now.

    Thanks for any help.

    Someone else from Didcot 0.o

I didn't think it was possible... Although I'm up at Durham Uni atm. I'll be back down there at the end of this week...

Sorry this post isn't related ^^.

    From Xbox-Scene:

E74: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement (see error 0102)
Its basically the same issue as the 3ROL, so you shouldn't have any problems.
Try leaving the machine on for a while when you're not using it, it'll probably 3ROL shortly anyway.

Re: E74 error code under extended warranty?

Phoned up MS earlier and told them and the guy on the phone said he would mark it down as the 3 RROD and that I can send it in to be fixed

Luckily I've got another 360 to keep my addiction going

    Got my 360 back today

They fixed it no problem and even replaced the DVD drive for some reason.
