Of course they don't... MS would far rather push their downloadable content than pay Sony royalites on every Bluray drive they might ship.

the downloads are the big point imo, the whole industry seems to think that in 5 years or so digital downloads will be the main way of doing things...

Ever since they lost the war they have been plugging for digital downloads, that has been known for a few months now, but the problem that also has been highlighted is the internet speeds that the averge joe gets, this is where it could take longer than expected to bring this system into play, that and the poxy 13gb hard drive you get with normal models.

if we can get decent download speeds by then..
the average SD movie would take around 4 or 5 hours to download on todays average line-speed.. nevermind HD.
but i suppose there's hope with BT's new network thing they're planning.
