I use one of these Amazon.co.uk: Adapter DVI-I - 3 RCA YUV Plugs: Electronics & Photo and my 2208WFP. Works a treat.

Thanks for the links blackmage i'll have a look tonight when I get in from work.
It really improves the experience! With excellent displays at slightly over or under in some cases the £200 mark its affordable although you won't get HDCP which could be an issue for you? It also is great for web browsing and especially on sites optimised for high resolutions like hexus!

Yeh - at the moment I am still undecided between going for a cheaper one - somthing like the Acer AL2416 (£230) - or spending a bit more on something like a HP w2408h (£330). The HP one looks alot better and has the twist portrait / landscape option which would be quite cool.

if you're splashing out, you MUST buy a screen with a decent TFT panel in it (P/MVA, or IPS). the cheapo standard tech (TN+Film) looks bad from "non-standard" angles like above or below, which makes them pretty much useless when rotated 90 degrees into portrait mode (as there's no longer a "correct" viewing angle)

from the list, i got the wife a 24" hyundai w240d-pva for her birthday, which is lovely (and has all the inputs including hdmi and component)
one relatively popular choice amongst nerds is finding a deal on no-name companies selling PVA/MVA screens for ridiculous prices - such as "dgmate" (ocuk value) and "yuraku" (aria and tekheads and others) - you get a decent panel for half the price of a "real" brand
personally, i didn't want to risk it & went with a known brand for extra money, partly for the connectivity
If you've got the dough... BenQ's FP241WZ (with HDMI port) is a cracking screen
However, Dell's 2408WFP takes some beating in its price range.
But without a doubt... the Yuraku - which is being raved about all over the 'net (thanks primarily to it's P-MVA screen, and HDCP compliance)... is the best budget 24" screen just now by far
It's proved so popular though... you may have a job finding a store which still has it in stock
Aha you guys were right - it was the cable!
Plugged in the new MS VGA cable and hey presto I now get a list of loverly resolutions to choose from. My 19" non widescreen Dell now works nice at 1280x1024 and the 20" ViewSonic works at 1366x768 (not its native res so a bit blury).
Fantastic! I am so pleased!
I think I'll stick to what I have for now - but the temptation is still gnawing to go for a 24" jobby
XBOX AHOY!!!

I went for the risky option of the Digimate (OcUK value jobby) and have been very pleased for what I got for £210 including delivery! No HDCP is a bit of a bummer but never mind, it was brought mainly for the 360 and has done so far a fantastic job at making games even more enjoyable to play then they were previously on my 19" TFT!
Good stuff! You need to get your gamertag added to your hexus profile now, or post it here! No doubt you'll be on Forza 2 a fair old bit?Originally Posted by Butuz
I'm using a Samsung SM932MW. A 19" TV/Monitor with a max Res of 1440 x 900.
I'm hooking up via HDMI. It probably ain't that amazing as a monitor.
But, seeing as I bought it mainly as TV and seeing how cheapish slim TV's cost around the £100 mark, the extra £90 seemed worthwhile.
I plan on getting another monitor soon so I can have Dual screens with my PC. This one will be a decent monitor though.
Using a Dell 2407 A03 with the official VGA cable on my 360. Sharpness set to 30 to get rid on the lines and imo it's perfect
