    Them Gekko's are scary!!

    I'm really liking it.

It isnt too cut-scene heavy either the longest so far was Drebin(man that shop is sweet) at about 20mins.

The gameplay is superb, i foolishly let my friend (who is no snake) have a go and he went in rambo style which was fun but i had to deal with both Militia and PMC so i'm gonna go back a few saves and keep on their side.

I think the graphics are top notch, so much detail and the cut scenes are some of the best i've seen.

there is a longer cut scene further down but it gives you the option to skip or pause it lasted nearly 30mins but i was nowhere near bored of it

if you hate long cutscenes i suggest people avoid this game because this game is half playing, half watching but the cutscenes are well made and ties in really nicely on what is happening around you.

the dialogue is spot on and easily is the best cutscenes i have seen in any game to date. i have just completed act 1 and took me over 5 hours to do so

you may not like the installation process either has yes i can confirm that between each acts there is a mini installation of the game again that takes wroghly 3mins to complete. the first installation takes nearly 10mins but but i can tell that this game in terms of GB size is HUGE. probably has big as AOC which is over 25gb long the size of a blue ray game filled up and that in itself takes 30-40mins to install

On the MGS4 case it says it requires 4.6gb.

So Josh you must have played that bit then if you have completed act 1... "Akiba get downwind!"

    Re: <**>The Official MGS4 Gameplay Thread(No spoilers!)<**>

had to do a second install a second ago... so beware the install when you start isn't the only one... I'm hoping this won't keep occurring between playing the game but this one only took 3mins... first was 8... i have a feeling though they will keep bringing up install screens throughout. I think their idea is to force you to have breaks between gameplay.if you read all the dialog etc etc... I'm hoping its a long game as you know mgs2 wasn't that long... could be dragged out with lots of exploring though... but if i finish this by tonite I'm going to be pretty pissed off as a die-hard mgs fan... it doesn't feel challenging or absorbing at all bar the cutscenes... it seems to be lacking something:\ maybe its just the choice of scenery i don't like... the first 3 had a nice variation... this seems abit too much middle east and current times (bar the mechs obviously lol)
oh and I'm on act2 solid sun now... how many acts is there... i think my opinion might just be changing as i watch this... lets say the setting just changed and got alot better... so scratch my above theory of middle east.

    Re: <**>The Official MGS4 Gameplay Thread(No spoilers!)<**>

There is an install at the begining of every act which is always claimed to be 3 mins long. Though I personally think it is shorter than that, last install I had took about a minute.
I've just got to Act4 now, lets just say your jaw is going to hit the floor

    Re: <**>The Official MGS4 Gameplay Thread(No spoilers!)<**>

I had my doubts, but it is really good. I think the cut scenes are a bit too OTT, I want to play a game not watch a film. I am wondering if there are more cut scenes than playing. Sometimes I just want to jump in and play.

Hate it when I get discovered and loose my stealth, but then the FPS man in me jumps out and I just start shooting, then leg it and hit the ground and camo.

    Re: <**>The Official MGS4 Gameplay Thread(No spoilers!)<**>

Well I finished act 4 last night and it says I have played for 18 hours, that's a good length game.
I don't think there has been as many cutscenes in this game as there has been in the previous ones and there certainly is a heck of a lot less codec chatter going on. First time through on the previous games it was ok for me with the stopping to chat, but when you played through again it made it a bit of a joke. So atleast replaying the game will be a lot more fun too. The vast majority of the cutscene/codec comes at the begining of the level and the end, very little tends to come inbetween. You're almost just dropped in the level and left to get on with it.

Act 4 though... OMG! You need to have played the previous games to experience Act 4 the proper way and the end to it all is epic.
