    Best deals on a PS3?

Are there any good deals around on a PS3 at the moment? Also, will I need any other components to connect up a PS3 to my monitor (via HDMI) and wireless ADSL router for online gaming? With the Xbox 360 I had to buy a wireless bridge.

You will need to buy a HDMI cable. The PS3 has wifi built in so need to worry about expensive add ons.

Yep - its wireless out of the box you just need to get a hdmi cable.

Im using this someone i know splashed out £79.99 and i can see no difference personally.

Wireless is fine, but if you have your router or wifi point in a separate room with "old style" walls between i found i only got 50ish% signal so went down the homeplugs route which seems to work much better for me.

if your going to order anything for ebuyer in the near future they have 2m HDMI cables for £3, I got a couple for setting up mine, (with some HDMI-DVI to setup with a PC monitor) and you couldn't tell it was a cheap cable.

Remember the 40gb PS3 is being phased out at the minute to make way for the new 80gb model. There will be better deals on it the closer we get to the 80gb release.
NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, GBA, DS, PSone, PS2, PSP, PS3 60gb, XBOX, XBOX 360, Master System, Game Gear, Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, PC Engine, Neo Geo CD

A lot of the larger stores are already out of the 40Gb stock and have no idea if or when they will get more. Sure, the deals will get better as we near the 80Gb release but stock levels are already low.

Re: Best deals on a PS3?

Regarding any deals about getting a PS3, if you or know of someone who will be flying at Heathrow Terminal 5, you could always pop into HMV and get the console there.

A long shot but I thought I would mention it anyway!

Can't remember the price it was selling at (was last through there in April) but it was cheaper than the in-store prices. Plus they tend to have offers as well (be it with games etc.).
