Seems to me graphics are still a generation behind.

Pro Evo 09 is on download now, hopefully it will be a match....?
Maybe I will buy one after all
I take it you're referring to FIFA 09 on the PC rather than the 360? The graphics in the 360 version are great.

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

Nope, I am referring to the 360 version.
Great in comparison to Pro Evo but certainly not great.

Just played some Pro Evo, looks like the old Pro Evo with a smoother and more vibrant finish. I liked it to be honest, felt easy.

Messed around with the Fifa settings a bit and found a happy medium with the passing.
Not sure which one I prefer, will be interesting to see what they are like in 2 player as that is my main gaming approach to football sims.
Graphics wise Fifa wins hands down but the long term gaming decision has not been made for me, a balance of easy on the eyes and flowing gameplay is the winner but only the Fifa demo allows me to actually find that out quickly.

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

I've ditched Evo this year. Willing to come back maybe next year. But Fifa seems like it's taken some large steps over the past 2 years. Evo has gone no where imo..... looks better, but doesn't flow as well as this years Fifa.

It's about time Evo had a kick up the back side like Fifa did a few years back!

So FIFA's graphics aren't great against what? It's the best looking football available and I think it looks extremely good.

PES does feel easy which is why it becomes boring quickly.

In terms of many many other games I am not referring to football sims exclusively. For a 2009 title I do not think it has come on that much really.
The graphics boundaries have been pushed in other genres mainly due to competition but the Fifa/Pro Evo competition has been stagnated due to Fifa playing catchup on gameplay and Pro Evo resting on its laurels with preferable market share.
I just feel that time has been wasted on this generation of consoles and we are going to have to wait a little longer for a football game we can say blows us away like we have had in the past.

you are wrong in so many levels mate. the word "us" says it all really. to me and MANY footy sim fans, fifa09 blows us away so before you say "us" you should of said "you" or "some" people are waiting for a footy game to blow you away.

imo pes09 is a joke. they have gone backwards. pes08 on the psp is still better then pes09 on next gen consoles. konami have lost the plot and if they come out with a crap game again next year i will be worried about konami.

FIFA is alot better then pes09 in various ways from graphics to the actual game engine. fifa09 also has a whole list of unique features too from BAP seasons mode to that addidas live season mode. whats the best pes09 has to offer? a blatent carbon copy of BAP calles be a legend?

josh can i come round yours to play pes09? you obviously been playing the full version in depth.

judging from both demos, pes is classic pes, seems a step up from pes6. fifa09 is shockingly pretty, puts pes to shame, i just dont like the gameplay.

its wishful thinking that PES09 full version will be "ALOT" better then pes09 demo mate. its a demo of the game NOT a BETA

it might be sligtly better in the full version BUT imo fifa09 is ALOT better then pes09 demo.

We must be playing different games mate - the PES demo is just more fun to play than the FIFA demo, hands down.

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

    i agree with that.

i couldnt see myself buying fifa after playing the demo.

and to say one is ripping off the other is just daft. its like saying forza rips off gran tourismo cos theres lots of cars in it...

when theyre both out, we can compare them.

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

I need to stop reading these PES fifa threads, really is just pathetic.

Why does every one feel the need to pass thier opinion off as fact?

Both games are good, but different so will apeal to different types of people.

Gonna try not to read any more of this ****.

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

Thing is, I don't see anyone in the world couldn't be bored of FIFA now, its been the same plodding-but-looks-nice offering since the early Triassic.

The Zomgosaurus has evolved, walked around a bit, and gone extinct in that time, FIFA is still the same core. Yes its prettier, yes its got this added feature, but its not been exciting for ages.

I've not played a PES game since ISSd on the SNES, so PES seems fresh to me, but even ignoring familiarity, 3 goes on each demo makes it very clear to me - PES is more fun to play. Forget realistic, forget graphics, what will matter 5 months after you got the game will be how fun the game is to play, and thats the area where PES is ahead.

FIFA is boring now, and its been boring for a long time.

Andy - this is a gaming discussion forum, thats why people are discussing games here.

Are you having trouble understanding this?

God almighty you really are a fanboy. its cool that you love PES and hate FIFA but dont go on as if fifa being boring is fact. i seriously doubt you even play fifa09 on the consoles but maybe you have. express your opinions without the word "we" .

Andy i agree. people like stewert are mistaking facts with opinions. cant people respect others opinions here?

Oh you said fanboy. Well done.

Why do you type like an angry child trying to 'win' in the playground? 'hate' FIFA?

I'd say to you - stop shouting fanboy all the time, its infantile and means nothing. Stop going on about 'love this', 'hate that', they are video games, I don't think I've ever hated a video game... its a video game, that would be strange.

    Try discussing it. Silly boy.

fifa has to be by far the best game simply because the movements are more realistic i dont agree how fast the players move but maybe update will eventually arrive!
