    So - Co-op games - what's out there?

Now that I have a bit more spare time on my hands, I have got back into relaxing after working and kicking back on the 360, my launch day console has gone to be replaced with a much quieter elite and the missues has her own controller and is starting to enjoy playing games on it in co-op mode.

We just finished off Army of Two which was surprisingly good and now I am on the look out for any games which can be played splite or single screen where both of you work towards the target.

So what's out there I don't know about? Whats good?

Thanks for any help on this one - if I play games she can play then it means she stays happy

    Matt.

I'm currently going through Gears 2 with the other half. It scares the bejesus outta her, but she likes how the game feels "so epic"!

If you're after a complete change of pace, the latest Viva Pinata has co-op where two users can manage a garden at once.

Don't game on my PC anymore - tbh its all going up for sale very soon to be replaced with a bog standard Dell data storage as i use my netbook for everything round the house.

Hmm gears of war, I hadn't realised it had that.

Just had Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway delivered, disappointing to see thats only single..

Anything else you can think of? Viva Pinata is a bit too boring for both me and her lol

    Re: So - Co-op games - what's out there?

    Here's a selection:

    • Call of Duty: World at War (split screen)
    • Fable 2 (same screen)
    • Gears of War (split screen)
    • Gears of War 2 (split screen)
    • Guitar Hero 2 / Guitar Hero 3 / Guitar Hero World Tour (split screen)
    • Halo 3 (split screen)
    • Kameo: Elements of Power (split screen)
    • LEGO Star Wars (split screen)
    • Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter / Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (split screen)

Call of Duty, Gears 2 and Fable 2 are the newest bunch. But, I'd probably skip those and go for some of the older titles. I know a lot of those can be had for a tenner or less. Ghost Recon is very good in co-op, Kameo is a fun platform title, and LEGO Star Wars is good fun too. Then there's always Guitar Hero for some co-op rocking...

    Re: So - Co-op games - what's out there?

had one, had to sell it, girlfriend didn't like the look of it and was too afraid of being seen waving here hands around like a loon in the lounge.

Besides, my best mate had to take his back after his neighbours pissed themselves laughing at him trying to play golf in the lounge like tiger woods.

Ever since then, my girlfriend wont entertain the idea again, hence the elite upgrade

Thanks for the list Parm, looks like Ghost Recon might be a good one, with GOW too...

I take it none of the splinter cell stuff has a co-op mode?

edit: Rainbow 6 Vegas and Vegas 2 do - so off to find them cheap too

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory has a co-op mode, its very good. I think there is a downloadable map pack that adds more co-op missions to.

    Re: So - Co-op games - what's out there?

All recent lego games have co op. If your getting star wars get the complete saga. 2 games in one

Ghost Recon co - op I didnt rate that much. Its not like playing the single player campaign with someone else its just maps with objectives..

Shame that the split-screen mode in the new Call of Duty doesn't fill the screen

L4D not have a split screen mode? That'd be good.

I think that COD:WaW and Gears 2 would be your best bet, Gears 2 particularly if you liked Army of Two.

Yeah.. that sounded odd to me after re-reading it.
What I meant is that on local co-op you only get just over 1/4 of the screen each rather than a 50/50 split.
