    OK I have bitten

Ordered a 360 today. Getting GoW2 hoping it will be better than GoW1 on the PC ...

Forza 2 looks good with the mods and stuff, is it anything like NFS Underground?

Forza 2 is more a racing simulator than Chav-rocket racing, thankfully. Equally good fun if a little more challenging, one of the only games I keep going back to play

I thought GOW was horrid on the PC myself, much better on the 360. GOW2 is ace. Give horde mode a go with some mates it's a right laugh. Mindless violence FTW.

    Re: OK I have bitten

GoW on the PC was horrid. Crashing and not really anywhere near as good as like UT3 or something. Thanks for the clarification of Forza, although I see Forza 3 is coming out later this year as well!

Anything else worth looking at? (Have SF4 on PS3)

I don't think GOW2 is better than GOW1, just it lacks that spark to me. One game i'm enjoying currently is Street Fighter 4!

Heh, no worries. Stick Forza 2 into Youtube should give you an idea of racing styles. Looking forward to Forza 3, one of the few games I'll pick up on release methinks.

Other games worth looking at? Halo3? CoD4/5, Hitman, Mass Effect, Bioshock?

    Re: OK I have bitten

Got Cod4 on PS3, done Bioshock on PC. Didn't want two shooters to start off with. Mass Effect has intrigued me, dunno why. Got CoD4 on PS3 which I loved, CoD5 just didn't do it for me though. Not going to start off buying loads, just some to keep me entertained.

On the side I do like SF4. I alternate between that and Guitar Hero WT on the PS3. Hmm, maybe I should get Rock band 2 and instruments for the XBox ... ? LOL. Nope.

Mass Effect is really good, the main story is epic, very cinematic.

Burnout Paradise is the clear winner if you're into arcade style racing.

    Re: OK I have bitten

I personally didn't like Mass Effect at all. I thought it was pretty crap, they seemed to favour a random TPS and there wasn't all that much story that I could see. The main thing RPG about it seemed to be the amount of sidequests.

If you are a JRPG fan then there is a few of them about - Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and Infinite Undiscovery are the main ones I've heard of/played. Also got FF13 next year, although it'll likely be on PS3 before then (It is in Japan, anyway)

I'm not an RPG gamer but my other half speaks highly of Lost Odyssey and Eternal Sonata, although the latter looks extremely feminine.

    This is true, btw.

On the Gears of War II front, it's a good game, but it's very similar to Resident Evil 5. Both are fantastic looking over-the-shoulder 3rd person shooters, but ultimately Resident Evil 5 is more of an adventure, there's more to do, and it probably the better game.

So look into that instead of Gears, probably not a good game to get as well as Gears, given how similar they are.

Ah yes, Eternal Sonata, I remember seeing a little of that. Looks interesting too.

Damn it, I need to stop spying all these games that I want to buy, that'll only empty me out again when I get money :/

I can't see how you missed the story, although I will agree that it's not very rpg-like in a traditional sense. Hoping they improve the combat in the sequel too. Just mentioned it as the OP said he might be intersted

Don't forget there's a lot of good stuff on Live Arcade!

    Re: OK I have bitten

JRPG and RPG haven't really appealed to me. But I am open to giving things a bash. I found the control system on RE5 clunky (PS3 demo that was) so decided against it, I might give the XBox Demo a shot to see if its any different.

Everyone has their taste in games!
