Its the old xbox they won't repair. The new 360's are covered for 3 years for the RROD from memory.

How out of warranty can it be...? I bought mine on release day and it died a few weeks ago, 3 years and a couple of months after purchase. I called MS and they were quite happy to repair it under warranty, they never asked when I actually bought it at all and I didn't tell them.

It can't hurt to call them and find out.

    Re: Oh no! Noooo!

Microsoft has confirmed that from today it will not undertake repairs to original Xbox consoles unless they're under warranty.

    Re: Oh no! Noooo!

SF4 isn't on the original Xbox, only the 360....... So all those links are a bit of a waste of time

Ring MS matey - you should be well covered!

"Microsoft is enhancing the terms of its Xbox 360 warranty to three years for certain general hardware failures which are indicated by three flashing red lights on the console. This will apply to new and existing customers and Microsoft will retroactively refund the out-of-warranty repair costs paid by customers for console problems indicated by the three flashing red lights." Re: Oh no! Noooo!

I'm sure it helped with the confusion somewhere along the lines.
