    Xbox 360 crashing

Has anyone else noticed that their 360 keeps crashing or is much slower to respond than usual? I joined a friends party to tell him but before I mentioned it he said the same had been happening to him...

About 6 months I think. I thought it could have been waiting for RRoD but like I said the same thing is happening to my friend.

All 3 of mine are fine, haven't noticed any slow down and haven't had any lock ups.

OK now 3 more friends have reported the same problem. One of them lives in Ireland so it's not my ISP.

    Re: Xbox 360 crashing

All the time. When I try to click Xbox Live on the online menu on cod 4 for example, it says loading stats for a long time and takes a few tries to get into a party. When I delete a message, it takes about 10 seconds and sometimes fails. When I try to join a party, it takes FAR longer than normal and often fails. When playing a game it can completely crash when loading a save etc. And much more...

    Re: Xbox 360 crashing

Just wanted to add it's happening to most of the people on my friends list. If you want to try it make sure you're online BTW. It's definitely not just me.

I just ejected a game disc and got 1 red light and error E71 which is apparently a dashboard update error. I restarted my console and it was fine...

    Re: Xbox 360 crashing

mine runs slowly but different to yours my symptoms are

1,on startup it makes this horrible shuddering noise for about ten seconds (hard to explain exactly but it vibrates my desk and is unpleasant)
2, takes a good 30 seconds to sign in on xbox live
3, recently games have been crashing (completely locking up the xbox)

mine is a falcon manufacture date oct 07 purchased dec 07 new but am a bit worried about mine as all these symptoms started about 6 weeks ago and previous to that it had been fine.

    Re: Xbox 360 crashing

Don't mean to jump in on the thread but,

My friend has just ran into a problem with Call of Duty 5.
He's had it installed to HD for a while, he's been away on holiday and only just come back.
Switchnig it on it says an update is required, which he did..
now it freezes completely and requires a reset whenever he joins a multiplayer game.

I uninstalled the game and cleared his cache for him, re-updated and still no joy.
    Any ideas?

    Re: Xbox 360 crashing

watercooled, try going into the system set-up and deleting old stuff from the HDD. I was surprised to find I only has 2GB left on my drive and it was going noticeably slower. I deleted a load of old games, demos, videos etc and it came back up to speed.

    Re: Xbox 360 crashing

I did try clearing space on my HDD, deleting demos and installed games to see if it made a difference but it didn't. Clearing the cache didn't help either. Danroyle, I had those exact problems too (apart from no.1) but for some reason they seem to have resolved themselves today. I just signed on as normal and it seems to be back to normal speed and didn't crash at all. Strange...
