£150 worth of Game Vouchers... What would you recommend game wise?

    How do's

I have around £150 in Game vouchers to do with as I please and was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for games for the 360? Don't know whether to use them to pre-order assassins creed 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum and then pick up something like Call of Jaurez. I have Ghostbusters winging it's way to me from play asia so no point pre-ordering that.

Anything else due to land that I may of forgotten about? IL2 feel's to arcade like from the demo and Forza 3 will not be a game I will be buying any time soon so anything else really

    Cheers

Re: £150 worth of Game Vouchers... What would you recommend game wise?

Yeah I must admit the geek inside took hold at that Batarang xD

MW2 I am still in two minds. Do I buy the 360 version due to the exclusive content for it first with PC and PS3 getting it months down the line for maps etc or do I save the £20 and get it on PC.

I must admit, the likes of CoD and GoW I prefer the PC versions as I am a mouse and keyboard player and have been for over 10 years but slowly getting used to the controller now. Just can't pull off the accuracy just yet constantly. I guess that will come in time, also not sure I want to blow £49.99 at the local game of the vouchers on the pre-order. I wished you could use the vouchers online as they are always 5 - 10 quid cheaper than the store.

Wolfenstein is another PC or 360

Must admit, Halo 3 ODST is the first Halo that has actually taken my attention so thats a possible, cheers

Don't kill me for this, but the beatles just don't do it for me xD Although the Iron Maiden rock band stuff did, would have to buy the controller etc for that to.

Thanks for the idea's there are certainly three or four in that list that are all possibles

Re: £150 worth of Game Vouchers... What would you recommend game wise?

Heh, just replied to your message on the xbox and then saw this post

    As I said, I would pre-order MW2, Forza 3 and Batman

I used to be a avid keyboard and mouse player. I was in a semi-pro CS clan, we had our server paid for and were give mice and other bits, as well as any winnings of course I slated the console for FPS games, the mere thought of trying to play an FPS on a console used to make me cringe, but I have come around and love the pad now for them.

Older games I would recommend are, Dead Space, Brother in Arms: Hell's Highway (Greatly underrated game imo) Fable 2, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey. Most of these you should be able to pick up for around £10, well in game second hand they will prolly be around the £15-£20 mark.

Re: £150 worth of Game Vouchers... What would you recommend game wise?

Going by what you have on your gamercard,
I'll suggest a few older titles that can be had cheap

    Burnout Paradise
    Dead Space
    Oblivion
    Fallout 3
    Fable 2
    Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2
    Mass Effect
    Lost Planet
    Bioshock
    Dead Rising
    Lost Odyssey
    Ghost Recon 1 & 2
    Resident Evil

Left out Call of Duty / Left 4 Dead / Bioshock and stuff, I persume you have those on the PC.

Re: £150 worth of Game Vouchers... What would you recommend game wise?

    TrashMan:

I am looking at the Batman (The Geeky Version though for the batarang xD ) and the Modern Warfare 2 but as for Forza 3 I am going to hold off on that (trying to hard to be GT5 and falling short), just started on 2 and working out if it is the type of racer I could stick with as I am a massive GTR fan and still play GTR and WTCC Race 07 on the PC. Brothers In Arms Hells Highway I have on the PC also and I will agree once you get used to it, it's a great game Fable 2 was also another I was looking at, was £14.99 in Game last week but bought the Wolverine game instead as I knew I could get Fable 2 cheaper from eBay and Wolverine was on a £10 weekend special I will have a look at Dead Space and Mass Effect I will check the message you sent when I get in from work tonight

Is Call Of Juarez Bound in Blood not a game you could recommend as I was looking at that to but never played the first one so not sure on what it plays like, no demo either from what I can see. Always concerns me when you see games released and no demo's

    Zap:

I am starting to think I should put a list of the games I have as there are a number of them still on the shelf unopened from Christmas time xD Just to many games to play both 360 and PC, then the NDS and then I have to squeeze in EVE Online play

I have Dead Rising and most the Resident Evil's, in fact all the re-released Res Evils on the Gamecube so don't want to buy them again for the 360 I also feel Res 5 was lacking in the Demo and prefer Res 4 over it so the Gamecube does the job for that I will admit Fallout 3 is a game I have been really looking at for the long time, then all the DLC's landed and it sort of put me off as I know what I am like I will buy points just for the DLC's to grind the game and end up skint

Are the rainbow 6 games any good as I always hear mixed results on it, some people say they are great and others slate it beyond belief. The same can be said for Ghost Recon to, I am assuming that there will be demo's on the xbla? I have Left4Dead on both the PC and the 360 so thats covered, Call of Duty 1 2 MW1 and WaW I have on the PC, MW1 I also have on the 360 as I got it for Christmas off a mate.

Bioshock I never played, tried the PC demo moons ago and I have seen it tied with Oblivion for £20 at game new so might check them out.

Burnout Paradise is one of those games I have been looking at for months as I loved the older games and the outright destruction levels but always felt as if it was a quick 30 minute game then put down for something else. The ultimate box is cheap enough these days though so I think I will go on the hunt for this

    Thanks for the idea's guys

As for the console gaming with FPS's I am getting better at it but it's taking me so long to line up shots, in MP it's not a problem as I will be strafing half the time to follow their path and spray. Strangly enough though I don't seem to have the problem with BF1943, although the aiming on that seems stiffer if you know what I mean, whereas CoD and GoW2 seem to be very twitchy, I have tried most settings in the options for controls and medium is the one I stick to as high is far to twitchy and low is to slow to turn around. I will get used to it in time

As for the games I have now they are:

Afro Samurai (this is a highly underrated game, especially for those that like Afro Anime)
    Assassins Creed
    CoD:MW
    Dead Rising
    Forza 2
    Gears of War 2
    Ghostbusters
    GTA4 + Lost and Damned
    L4D
    Need For Speed: Pro Street
    NHL 09
    Ninja Blade
    PGR4
    Red Faction: Guerilla
    Saints Row
    Star Wars: Force Unleashed
    Stranglehold
SW Snowboarding (What a crock of you know wotsits this game is good job it was a £5 ebay job)
WWF Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 (Came with the XBox)
    X-Men: Wolverine

Then a mass of XBLA games

There are a few more that I can't remember at present but I will add them to the list later so you can see what I have. I think instead of Forza 3 I would get Assassins Creed 2 personally as Forza is over rated in my books. Prefer the Simbin racers. Think I may take Wolfenstein on board to from Stevie, there has to come a point where the console will outlast the PC for me and as money is getting tight now and the bills are going up and with a kid on the scene, the days of blowing a grand+ on a gaming PC is slowly coming to an end.

What the xbox is really missing is a decent Rally WRC game. I still play Rally WRC on the PS2 as its one of the best rally games around along with the early Colin McRae's I would love a proper rally game to land on the 360. I miss the realistic rallying, none of this fuel bull crap or the dirt series which spread itself to thin. I would also like to see another Toca BTCC with just the British Touring cars I miss the good old racers from the PS1 I spent almost a year solid just on Colin McRae 1 and TOCA BTCC

Whilst I remember, anyone know what the current Splinter Cell's are like. Played and enjoyed the first few then left them alone and conviction looks like its shaping up. Obviously I am looking forward to Alan Wake to

I'm enjoying Call of Juarez BIB, but I don't think it's worth the £40 I paid for it. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a average shooter, but at least it's a wild west setting and as I have also never played the first one, it made a change. Not tried the MP side of it yet though.

So from what I am picking up on here, is that its worth the play through but wait a few months and find it in a bargain bin or a £15 ebay special

    You've not played Bishock?
That's definitely not one to miss!

As for Vegas, iI guess you can love it or hate it really but it has ALOT of different modes..
Both co-op and multiplayer sections, well worth a play through in my opinion and one of my top titles.
Terrorist hunt will have you back all the time, so much fun.

Burnout Paradise has alot going for it if you're into arcade style racers, there's lots of things to see and do..
A good amount of different game modes both online and offline.
The co-op challenges have been my favourite so far.

Bioshock was the time I was heavily into WAR/EVE and then still playing tribes 2 so nothing else got a look in really.

Will check it out, could even borrow it off a mate I suppose.

I am not oppsed to arcade or sim like racers. If it's good its good

Re: £150 worth of Game Vouchers... What would you recommend game wise?

Oh and Resident Evil, I'm with you regarding the demo..
It doesn't really do the game justice, I was suprised at how much fun it actually is when playing co-operatively with a buddy.

Not many on the friends list has that game so the co-op would be a bit of a no no 99% of the time. I will pick that up when it gets to a tenner or so
