    Quiet game console?

    Hi all

I can't stand the noise my Xbox 360 (falcon version) creates, and I'm selling it for this reason - my pc for example is hugely quieter than this box... I'm looking for some tests that compare the xbox models noise levels.

The noise of the Wii is about at the limit of what I will tolerate, is the X360 Jasper, PS3 or PS2 close to these levels?

For the moment I've got a wireless xbox controller for windows with a silent laptop to do some gaming without having to listen to whiny asscake fans or drives spoiling the music and game audio.

    Ideas appreciated.

    looks promising.. any experiences?

From what I've seen they are not consistent with the drives and fans they use, at this rate it looks like I'll get a PS3.

How is it their error? I have no problem having mine on playing discs or games off the hard drive, the noise is a little loud but not intolerable

Could always water cool it for silence

    Re: Quiet game console?

Good to be a good solution, purely for the fact your getting a years warranty with it, not that a 360 Jasper revision should go wrong in that time if you saved a bundle and did it yourself

If you want to argue about wording that's fine, engineers/designers worth their salt would call it a design error or flaw etc etc.

Jasper is a new hardware revision of the x360 that is supposed to reduce heat and noise.
    - if they are not consistent with the parts they use in these units then some may get a noisier and possibly less reliable.

Everyone has their own tolerance level, I don't care enough to do hardware modding of the xbox if I can't find a quiet one, the easiest for me is to use a different quieter console (ps3 etc), I'll be happy all the same.

Not a terrible idea if it turns out Jasper is hit and miss, there is clearly a market for a quiet xbox.

Don't sell your current one - just rip it apart, shove it in a Lian Li case and water cool it!

    Mmmm silence.
