    Xbox 360 price increases.

Im not to bothered about the Arcade increase but the accessories being £1/2 more is making me sad face and even though you wont be getting those 5 arcade games any more most retailers usually throw a full fat game in anyway.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Thats quite a hefty price increase (£30) on the Arcade system. Can they even call it the Arcade any more if they aren't bundling them? Seems a strange decision, the Euro has been low all year (lowest was in Jan) and only now do they increase their price in the run up to the busiest period. Someone is trying to offset their losses at our cost.

From reading the article its something to do with the poor exchange rate. Being £129.99 it looks a lot more attractive price wise than the wii. It may also have to do with the rumour that the pro is being replaced with the elite. The elite is getting a price cut, maybe M$ prefer people buying the elite because of the harddrive.

£159.99 for the arcade does sound expensive considering a few months ago I got the xbox 360 pro with 60gb harddrive, extra controller, 2 games (Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda) for less than that.

    Re: Xbox 360 price increases.

Don't forget it wasn't that long ago that it was rumoured that Elite stocks were plentiful as the 2 fastest sellers were the Arcade and the 60GB.

By selling only 2 versions they are likely saving money in the long run and at the sametime clearing old stock of Elites.

I say old because all the known Elites are either Falcons, or Zephyrs/Xenons if the latter ones are knocking around it would not suprise me. The only Elite to see a later Jasper revision was the Red RE5 Bundle and that was sold in very limited numbers.

It looks to me like a good move to clear old stock, if the price falls it will make the deal so much sweeter, but after seeing the price rise of the Arcade, and the rumour yesterday that new Elites won't come with a HD or Component Cable, does not paint a good picture.

Looks like we'll find out the score tomorrow. My bet is on the Elite coming down to £160, with these 'arcade to £160' rumours actually a misunderstanding of the SKU placeholder.

I heard that both the Pro and Elite will come down in price.

An Elite at £160 is an excellent price. A bargin.

    Re: Xbox 360 price increases.

The updated price is £199 including games, the cheapest i've seen it today is £189.99, i doubt the price has settled yet, maybe you will get them for £180 in some places at xmas but i doubt they will drop it any lower due to the new arcade price increase.

And as stated above, i bet its being done as an incentive to push people to purchase Elites, there is plenty of Old Elite Stock sat around, i have enquired at a few stores and all they have is stocks of the older Elites.

From what i could tell from Amazon comments, some of their customers have been getting the revised edition i.e. no hdmi / component cable, later Jasper revision, but the box has been changed to a white box now.

The pro has been phased out, stocks will be gone soon, none of my local stores had them, except Argos had a few left.
