Angry Screen Turning very dark after playing exiting from mafia II

    Hi guys,
    I have a Dell 19" LCD set at 1440 by 900,at 75Hz,32-Bit.
My Graphics card is a Palit HD Radeon 4890 updated with the latest Driver version 10.8.
After exiting from Mafia II,which I play at all settings set to highest,my screen turns very dark, though not completely black & I have to restart my PC to get it to normal.
    Is it a known issue??
    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

I'd hazard a guess that game is doing something dodgy with the gamma, but it would make little sense....

    Which OS is this?
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)

It's a bug with the game.

There are two options. When you exit the game press ctrl + alt + del and then cancel to get back to desktop, or the better solution:

Browse to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia II\ (or where ever your steam folder is)

Have a look in here for the actual exe for the game (from memory it could be in a folder called PC so C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia II\PC)

Right click the game exe (Think its just called Mafia2.exe), properties and under compatibility select "Disable Desktop Composition"

That should fix it for you Seem's to affect ATi cards more than nVidia ones, its a bug carried over from the Demo. 10.8 cats sort it for the older cards, the 58xx series you do the fix above (fix still works regardless of model)

Obviously if your version isn't steam just go to the Mafia 2 folder you installed it to and do the same on the game exe
