Mafia - not a very well known game and a bit old now, but possibly the most immersive FPS I've played
    Far Cry
    Civilisation 4
Command & Conquer (various iterations of the series)

Re: Games 2 play before you die

For me, the games I'd highly recommend are:
    1. COD MW - Best game I have played in recent years
    2. C&C Red Alert - Fantastic fun, especially skirmish if you can get it working!
    3. Far Cry - Visually stunning, amazing worlds
    4. Crysis - Picks up where far cry leaves off
    5. Theme park!
    6. Theme hospital!

These are the main games I've been obsessed with over the years!

Re: Games 2 play before you die

    no mention of Portal?

Possibly the finest 4 hours of gameplaya anybody can experience.

Also, Freespace/Freespace2 are well worth a look if you like space flight sims. I have fond memories of starlancer as well but found its sequel freelancer to be pretty but also quite underwhelming.

I alwasy mention battlezone and Battlezone 2 on these threads as well, really wish they would remake that. Its like supp comm meets Tokyo wars (dunno if anybody else played that arcade game a few years back).

I notice the battlefield series mentioned a few posts up, have to say I would just ignore everything but BF2 + project reality. Project reality really is the way BF should be played.

Oh yeah, and Sins of a solar empire with the entrenchment mod is superb as well.

Battlefield 2142 online. Early in the morning. High on caffeine. Preferably a Titan map. Heart stoppingly awesome and tense.

As far as PC gaming I'd say Deus Ex.

    That game just awed me.
