I'm certainly considering picking up this game.... I heard there's alternative disc cover art you can download for it aswell?! Also, they say that it's already been banned in the UAE.... not sure what the reasons was though!

have been playing the promo version this week - it really is excellent!
i loved fahrenheit (indigo prophecy) so i was already sold in on heavy rain's concept from the get go!

takes a little while to get used to the controls and its a totally different way of playing a game but the way it plays with your emotions is a new step for games. definitely recommended!

    Re: Heavy Rain

Going to try Indigo Prophecy in the next few days (Steam sale a few weeks back), see how I get on with it and then potentially Heavy Rain too.

Sounds very intruiging from what I've read.

    Re: Heavy Rain

Not here to troll, just explain my opinion. I was very much wait and see about Heavy Rain. I wasn't sure about it, so when I saw the demo pop up I gave it a go. Now fair chops the game does look good and builds a nice atmosphere. Not very unique across all media, but pretty rare for video games.

So really for me adding an interactive layer to the story should bring me into experience, thats why it is a game not a film, TV series or book.

I can see that many people really love HR and the demo further heightened the their views. I am glad for them... because for me it destroyed what interest I had. The controls were an exercise in pain for me. They dramatically removed me from the experience with frustration. I spent my time building up in anger at the controls, distancing me from the experience.

I tried HR out on a friend letting him try it for himself, we often disagree on games so he is likely make up his own mind. He had less problems with the controls, but seriously didn't like them either. Then he got to the scene with the lady of the night and she started teleporting all over the shop. Things she would hold up like the cig would float in mid air as she flew around the room.

So lets just say its a no sale for me.

    Re: Heavy Rain

I gave my son my 80GB PS3 to keep last night and just ordered the 250GB Heavy Rain bundle for myself.
I am also waiting for my first ever X-Box 360 to arrive so I feel kinda like I did as a child at Christmas a long long long time ago

I will need to buy MW2 again as well as the boy confiscated that from me too

    Re: Heavy Rain

Gunbuster you're not wrong the controls are more than questionable. Wii style waggling quick time events and characters that change direction with no prior warning because of dodgy camera angles (very early Resident Evil that and it hasn't gotten any less annoying) do make things much more difficult than they need to be but at times. Despite those annoyances though it's got me well and truly hooked. I was more tense talking down an armed man as the P.I earlier than I've been while playing a game in quite a few years. There's a real sense of attatchment to the characters (for me at least) and a feeling that sometimes the wrong decision on your part WILL get the killed and then they're out of the story for good, no extra lives, no retrys and I love that

Literally just finished the game, I must say I really enjoyed it. The controls are a little annoying at times and yeah sometimes you can make the wrong decision and someone will die.

It took a good few hours, not sure on the replay value. I'm tempted to go through again, do some things differently and see how they pan out. I'm guessing that there are multiple endings.

I didn't really think I'd be spoiling things for anyone, isn't it common knowledge that characters can die? I thought it was one of the big selling points, sort of like mass effect 2.

Well, I hate Indigo Prophecy. Probably won't go on it again.

That probably counts out Heavy Rain I would imagine :/
