    Re: Final Fantasy XIII

dont hold ya hopes up, I loved FF7, and this is poor in comparison...just look at the mixed reviews it getting. It takes a good 25 hours to get going and up to that point is as linear as a chicken hypnotised by a chalk line.

    Re: Final Fantasy XIII

Have you actually played it though? I'll admit I take reviews into consideration when looking to buy games but they're certainly not the be all and end all of deciding if a game's good or not. I had read that it was a bit linear but I don't mind that tbh, if the story's half as good as previous games then I know I'll love it.

    Re: Final Fantasy XIII

Cancelled my pre-order after reading some reviews, 15-25 hours (depending on website) for it to get going, i thought Lost Odyssey took a while but im not really up for 20 on average. Then theres the uber linear game thats been reported i just feel really let down
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: Final Fantasy XIII

Ok I've played it for about an hour and a half today. First impressions are that it is incredibly pretty, the graphics are fantastic. The first part of the game is about as linear as you can get, ie running along a road, but it's just started to open out a little. The story has't grabbed me yet but seems good so far. Overall it's pretty good so far.

    Re: Final Fantasy XIII

Guess I'm lucky and unlucky at the same time.. Got my copy of FFXIII on Tuesday 9th. However, seems I won't be getting a 360 until Monday next week so I won't be playing for quite a while

I don't mind playing a linear game though, however apparently the battle system isn't as cool as it's a bit too fast paced according to a friend. I've heard the graphics are AMAZING though haha.

Hope I got my 360 soon!

It wont matter when you get your 360 as you will need a PS2

TBH i was a bit negative towards the game when the reviews came out, seemingly let down more than anything, but as I've played it its starting to become better - maybe even a lot better than what some reviews and the opening levels suggest.

On the battle front unless your mate/friend has played it to the point where you get all party members then he may have a better judgement than me.
I don't know if fast paced is the word but its definitely a lot more interactive and i actually really like it - when you first start out you only control Lightning so all other actions are done by AI and sometimes at the same time as your own, this is probably what makes it fast paced but as I said I cant confirm this till i get control of all 3 members (about 15-25 hours in depending on source).

Graphics wise I'd say they were very nice, not the best but not poor either. Aafter seeing both the 360/PS3 version there isn't much between them during gameplay - the 360 does a fine job upscaling to 1080p - maybe even better looking than the PS3 version depending on your screen size !

Graphics wise I'd say they were very nice, not the best but not poor either. Aafter seeing both the 360/PS3 version there isn't much between them during gameplay - the 360 does a fine job upscaling to 1080p - maybe even better looking than the PS3 version depending on your screen size !
    Haha, missed out an I.

Tbh I didn't plan on getting it but all my friends seemed to get it and well that told me to buy it too. So that means I haven't read any reviews, just seen it advertised on all the buses as 9/10 but I guess it's false advertising as usual haha.

Well perhaps that friend I was talking about just isn't used to it, he isn't very good at COD MW2 either haha.

I'm glad to hear that, I'm pretty sure that in normal gameplay the 360 and PS3 version have the same graphics but apparently the cutscenes/FMV are scaled down to 720p but I really doubt there'll be a difference for me as I'm only on a 24". I can't be bothered to argue with all the PS3 fans though so I'll let them talk and ignore them
