GAME 360 Elite £100 trade-in

Hi all,
I'm toying with the idea of taking GAME up on their trade in offer for 360s, for anyone that hasn't heard of it, you trade in your old 360 Elite plus £100 for a new 360 250Gb.
I got my old one used on Hexus for £100, and I like it a lot, but it's very noisy, and this does bother me a fair bit.
Do people think it would be worth it?

I bought a 250gb slim for £149 or so then sold my arcade console with a 120gb drive on ebay for £105 posted, was still in warranty mind you. I have to say the new one is a lot quieter and a lot nippier in the menus.
Recently read there's a new model 360 coming out so could possibly be worth waiting, no idea on a time frame though.

Well mine's second user and out of warranty. Plus it's louder than most I think.

Thanks for the info Zap, this is always the case with tech, whether to go for something now or wait for it to be replaced. I tend to remain on step or so behind the latest to save cash TBH! It's a gamble. I don't want my current xbox to die then have to buy a new one from scratch. I don't mind not having the latest one (when it comes out) but the price for the slim might drop then too.

I think it's definitely worth the trade in if you watch a lot of DVD's because the old 360 is a nightmare when trying to watch movies. Sounds like you're watching TV with a 747.

Other than that just install the games to the hard drive i always think. Delete the ones you don't play. With so many wicked games coming up i'd save the money for GoW3, F1 2011, Fifa 12 and BF3

Yep I would trade it in as you'll get a more modern console more reliable less noisy and with a new warranty and if you get the gears 2 console you get 2 new style control pads bundled (£80 odd worth)

I would trade my elite in but it's water-cooled at the mo and I smashed my control pad in a fit of back ops induced rage. Will have to stick with what I got!!
