    Child of Eden

    Anybody tried it yet, thoughts?

Considering heading out to buy it this afternoon... £35 might be a bit steep tho.

    Re: Child of Eden

I've played it on and off for the last week on both Kinect (only for a few hours one night as it's not mine) and the pad. At first Kinect seemed much harder when directly compared to the pad, but I'm leaning towards the idea that the Kinect will be much easier than the pad once you're used to it.

It's very similar in design to Rez (like we expected anything different) with the major gameplay difference being that you have a secondary weapon (or tracer) that is rapid firing but less powerful that your main reticule - but some enemies & all rockets can only be shot down with it.

It's enjoyable of course, but for me doesn't gel as well as Rez did - the music feels sloppy, there's not 10%/20% gate style progression, and the game makes you play multiple times to get awards for the end fo each level, and to unlock the harder difficulty.

Worth £35 - hmm, probably not when Rez HD is about £7, unless you played that to death like me or have Kinect which could make it quite a different game.

I do have kinect, this seems to me to be the first decent full price game for it apart from dance central. Might wait for it to appear in the pre owned bin...

    I'm getting this on Friday

Seeing as it will have amazing replay value after each time I go out partying it will pay for itself in 4 months

    Re: Child of Eden

That's it Lee - I played Rez to death on the Dreamcast as when we got back in from some DnB nights in Glasgow it was a perfect cool down till the early hours.

CoE could have that appeal, but for me the music isn't as good, nor as well structured in the levels as it was in Rez. Be interesting to hear what a few others think once they've got it.

    Re: Child of Eden

Tried it with kinect, made no sense what so ever, actually tried playing with the controller and got somewhere. Name is a bit misleading, as the game is a bit like galaga meets freespace. Its all about circles, squares and random shapes. Streer clear of this if possible
