Do new Wii consoles still need a power brick?

My Mrs has finally had enough of all the cables under the telly, and demanded I tidy them up. I know the new PS3 has an integrated power brick, so it only needs a figure-of-eight power cable and a HDMI cable. Is the same true of the newer Wiis?

    Cheers....

Re: Do new Wii consoles still need a power brick?

I was bought a new black Wii for my birthday in July and it came with a brick. I don't think anythings changed since then, and I don't imagine it will do in the future. Especially with the Wii U coming out next year.

Yes they still require the power adaptor, if they were to fit there adaptor inside the Wii they would have to redesign the whole case

Don't damage the 'Power Bricks' cord via bending it adversely, and it'll take care of you

Yes, unfortunately there has been no change.

Yeah, it's not viable for them to design a console with the PSU inside, would take too much room and be too hot.

    Yes.
They haven't reduced the power consumption of the console since launch.
