I attempted to connect my Nikon D50 to Vista today for the first time but it says it can't find the drivers.
I downloaded the drivers from the Nikon site but they are not compatible with the system.
Anyone got any ideas?

Try plugging it into a different USB slot ?
I've attempted to plug it into all 5 spare USB ports with no joy.
I also can't find the CD that came with my camera
Anyone know where I can download the files or find that .inf file?
have you tried Nikon Support?

have you got the camera set to ptp or mass storage, it should work fine if set to mass but will ask for drivers if set to ptp (it's in the spanner menu)
also card readers are so much easier
Just had a look on Nikonians, couldnt find any info apart from running capture. Have you got it set to USB mass torage on the USB option, if its set to PTP I think you need capture installed.
I downloaded the generic PTP driver from Nikon, when I run it I get the following error
The driver is not compatible with this system or dors not need to be installed. Aborting installation.
I can't see the camera in the device manager so does anyone know where I can delete the camera .inf file?
Good news, all fixed. I just did a search for drivers in c:\Windows and it picked up the correct file
