That's how many Vista licenses Bill and his friends have shifted since the retail launch around 100 days ago.

Good stuff, I imagine most of these are OEM as cheetahdavie says, sold with new PCs..but even so 40m in 100 days isnt bad

Just need to educate more people to the wonders of Vista..and get them to upgrade now...it's in their best interests.

Server 2008 is pretty cool too..I installed the latest MSDN build last week and had a play..and it has a few nice new features, and some much improved system views over server 2003. It also has a rather cool 'console only mode' where you can install server without explorer..everything is done through cmd.exe. Unfortunately its not a 'true' console mode as you can clearly see a background behind the console window (which actually runs in a window), but explorer isn't installed or running, which definitely saves on CPU time and memory

Its looking very much like an amalgamation of Vista and server 2003 at the moment..hopefully it will begin to differntiate itself a bit more over the next few years

Oh and for some reason .NET is not installed by default with the current builds...something else I expect to change.
