Please help recommend a quality micro hi-fi system!

Hi guys,

Hoping someone out there will be able to recommend a good quality micro hi-fi system please?

I'm after something small that I can put in the corner of the kitchen that will hopefully be able to fill a 20x15ft room with sound, be able to playback MP3's on CD and have a decent set of speakers with it.

Budget <£200 and ideally available in either black or chome to keep the wife happy!

Really don't want to make the mistake of walking in to Curry's with the wife and buying something that looks really 'nice' only to get it home to realise it sounds terrible.

Would really appreciate your thoughts.

I bought this.... Its really cool, sound quality is awesome and it looks great. Ive read that some people have had problems with the CD player but so far mines all good!

Which is a good thing - they are the Experts of DAB, the sound quality is superb as is the finish. The ebay link i posted... that stereo retails at &#163;250-&#163;300, I got it brand new of that dude for just over &#163;100. Take a look at it on Amazon or google the brand.

2'nd hand - Denon UD-M31 with a pair of Monitor Audio B2's. That good I've bought the same combo twice. The 31's better than the new ones imo

Best mini system I've heard, although Onkyo do a good 'un and I almost bought a TEAC as well

for that budget... check out www.richersounds.co.uk for a small separate systems... the size will be much likely the same as some of the micro system... but the sound quality is much better

also... for 2nd hand stuff... check out avforums... at that price.. you gonna get really decent sound...

thanks for your comments guys, that Sony with DAB radio for &#163;140 looks like a good deal, love the look of the Denon and Onkyo systems too but it seems you just get the main unit and need to source speakers seperately. I need to be able to put some small speakers up on top of the kitchen cupboards so this is also something Ineed to take in to consideration.
