Headphones

Bought a pair of Sennheiser HD202 headphones the other day from SoundShopping.co.uk (as posted in the Bargain Hunt section here actually!) for the absolutely ridiculous price of £12.95. I mainly bought them for late-night movie watching where my earphones get far roo uncomfortable after a while.

Well they arrived this morning, and, not expecting much, hooked them up to my SoundStorm quickly to give them a go.

Well I am rather pleasantly surprised at how good they sound with regards their price!! Quite bass-heavy and a very warm sound. I'm sure they'll sound a bit better when they're broken in, too. Treble and mid range isn't drowned out by the bass, and they certainly don't sound too harsh or tinny... Symptoms of all too many cheap headphones!

I definitely recommend them if you're after a pair of cheap (practically nothing!) headphones for general usage! They're very lightweight but surprisingly well built considering.

Looks, and sounds, quite nice! Might have to purchase some new headphones as my old one's are borked. They're falling apart now, and it's difficult to keep them on my head!

I'm not sure why the entire world doesnt just buy Senns

With the price they are now all at, its rude not too....Inow use headphones on my PC more than speakers.

TiG recently got some 570's too

Deck has some lower spec ones that frankly rock the house

Why buy anything else at all

Sennheiser are great across the entire range.

I've got a £40 pair at they sound almost as good as my £300 speakers.

I will always use my lovely Monitor Audio speakers for movies, etc, in "normal" hours, I mainly bought these for watching late night movies when the parents are in bed. But they sound better than I expected

Anyway, I've had three pairs of Sennheisers and loved them all, I'm on the HD600s now. Actually it's four, the little in ear phones I got with my MiniDisc are Sennheiser too. They're average, but they're probably just rebadged anyway....

ya reckon?.....hm.....maybe.
I think for dropping and member of the public into the "Headphone Market" with any budget....with either lots of knowledge and good ears, or no knowledge and cack hearing....the Senn range is the safest bet by a long way.

sen range is good throuought but around the £100 mark the grados storm it.. dont look as nice thou

The sens are good, and their earphones are good for the price, but if ya dont mind looking like a WWII radio operator then Grado's are great- They do some headphones for the £80 range (as well as in the £800 range!) which I am quite tempted by.
