Ultramon is what you need. It puts a start/task bar across the second screen.

Try running the game in a windowed mode on one screen, whist having everything else on the other, and just alt tab between them

*Mod's maybe this should be in hardware?*

Iit's to do with the fact that it's windowed, even light games go laggy when in windowed mode.

As for the OP's original question, I had this problem a long time ago. After weeks of stressing, trying to find answers, I just gave up, with it not being worth the effort. Simply put, the way directx/opengl works means its necessary to go fullscreen to make best use of resources. In the end I just used an old PC for messaging. Plus don't forget ; it wouldn't be as easy as just moving the mouse across as most games rely on the fact that moving your mouse moves the weapon sights(FPS games) or pans (RTS games).
