    Photoshop CS4

    Anyone using it yet?

I'm just installing it now.. (yawn)

Any juicy new things found? handy shortcuts etc?

I'm interested to see how well the GPU acceleration works

Nope, the official requirements are :

Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0

But basically it's any quadro or geforece gpu

I've not used it in anger yet, but it seems a lot more slick than CS3

Just seen a piece on Engadget about the new Quadro CX, very nice card! built specifically for CS4 (Photoshop, After Effects and Premier). Really cool video on the nVidia site: http://www.nvidia.com/object/builtforadobepros.html

    Re: Photoshop CS4

Yup, I'm going to get a couple more copies for work I think, we've got plenty of software eligible for the upgrade (I think we'll get a copy of the suite too), and I'm sure our designer will like it - his eyes lit up when I mentioned the content aware scaling feature

    Re: Photoshop CS4

nope, just move up to 1dsIII or depending on how it performs 5dII, for the ff-ness of it all, plus a set of lee filters etc...erm... just getting more, and moving towards, landscape shots. two things; ff means my lenses get their focal length's back, and higher res means better detail in gallery prints I get made. The current 8mpix in colour just makes it to 16x12 but at 30x20 I can see it loses in the detail which I'd rather was bit nicer, in b&w I have got the 4 foot [square crop from the short side of an image]

Is CS4 properly available now? I'm thinking about getting CS4 Design Premium through the education site. It looks pretty good compared to CS1 (which is what I last used)

    Re: Photoshop CS4

Yup, it was released on the 15th

As a side note, it looks like there are a fair few bugs - I'm getting quite a few glitches, and the openGL drawing isn't working either - but I did have a message to check for newer drivers (which there were) - not tried them yet, but I'll report back..

    Re: Photoshop CS4

    Nice!

Are you using the PC version, and if so have you noticed much speed difference with the GPU acceleration? I'm sort of considering a Macbook in a few months and know CS4 Mac isn't quite as advanced but think I'd still be fine with it. I know Adobe are working on updates for the mac side though.
