Another comparison site to help us choose our cameras

    Right here:
    DxOMark

The focus is on IQ in RAW - possibly the most interesting score it gives is dynamic range - the leaders in this regard are the Fujis S3 and S5!

There is a low-light score given too, but not much detail on how that is arrived at, nor the overall 'scores'. Both the Nikon D90 and Samsung GX20 seem to punch well above their weight, coming in the top 10 ahead of more expensive cameras. The Pentax K10D shockingly comes in at #10! Not bad for a camera you can buy for £320.

Certainly not definitive, but another tool to aid our decision making.

    Hmm its interesting.
The results arn't quite as I would of expected.
Having had a play with a D300 and taking some raw files home I wasn't overly impressed with the ISO performance. Seeing that website rate the D90 (with the same sensor) as having slightly better ISO performance than my 50D (which I don't believe it does) makes me wonder about this site.

I noticed. It was interesting to note that the A350, despite have a much greater pixel-count than my A100, trumps it on every measured scale, suggesting that the new 14MP CCD is a much better sensor than the older 10MP CCD. An A500 with the A350's sensor and a pentaprism VF like the A700's would be very nice....

I was interested in the differences between APS-C and full-frame cameras. The outstanding difference appears to be high ISO, but impacts other factors somewhat less. full-frame tens to offer up about 1 stop more DR, than APS-C, whilst 4/3 suffers a 1 stop penalty in comparison.

D90 sensor is based on the D300 sensor, but its not exctly the same. If your playing with D300 nefs grab a demo of NX2, for nikons its the best bet for dealing with raw files. The raiting on the D90 is similar to some other tests on dynamic range and noise ive seen, and theres mentions of a d300 upgrade next year.
