Looking for rechargeable Lithium batteries

hiya. im going to Canada in a few months to (sort of) work permanently there and i'm planning to buy a digital camera that takes AA batteries.


the reason why i liked the ones with AA batteries is that they can also be rechargeable and you can buy them almsot anywhere (grocery, camera shop,et al) unlike the brick Li-ion ones wherein you need to charge them on the mains. if you know what i mean.

i need sugestions please on what are the best rechargeable Lithium (preferably) batteries on the market today. thanks.

I didn't know you could get li-ion AA batteries, but I'd recommend going for the hybrid AA batteries like Sanyo eneloop - they don't suffer from discharge over time unlike normal Ni-MH batteries. So you can literally use them straight out of the packet or having charged them several months ago.

That's right - just 'lithium' batteries are run once. Li-ion is the rechargeable technology.

I have them for my digital cameras, but they're just standard Ni-MH, so lose charge over time when not in use. If you're using them all the time they're great.

The Uniross hybrio range are the low-discharge ones, but they're 2100mah. The 'performance' 2700 that you link to will have lost at least 20% of their charge in that two weeks - of course, there's still plenty left, but it's enough of a problem for them to have brought out the hybrio range.

Eneloop here too. I'll buy nothing else now. Got dozens of the things for my flashes and leave them in the school point-and-shoots too.

Perfect for wireless keyboards and mice which take AAs too.

and how about those 2500mAh Energizer rechargeables? are they generally a good make? and is it true whenever a camera is off the NimH battery's power is draining away?
