Re: What's in your garden?
I have quite a lot.. but if you expect me to get good shots with the P+S you'd be lucky!
Re: What's in your garden?
Nice crisp shots.
The last pic is a Dunnock (sometimes called the Hedge Sparrow).
Gardens are now an oasis for wildlife, as intensive farming has made a desert of the countryside.

!! So this is what happened to the tulips..

(please excuse the quality - didn't have time to adjust the settings on the camera and it was shot at full zoom through dirty glass from a less than steady hand!)

Re: What's in your garden?
BTW yorkieben, which lens are you using?
Re: What's in your garden?
Sony 70-300mm G SSM with a Sony A200
kalniel what is that? It looks bizarre!
Re: What's in your garden?
That explains why the quality is so good. I was hoping it was something a bit more affordable like the Sigma 70-300mm F/4-5.6 APO DG.

I regularly get
foxes
blue/coal/great tit
chaffinch
green finch
wren
blackbird
starling
wood pigeon
collared dove
house sparrow
occasional visitors
blackcap
waxwing
sparrowhawk
grey squirrel
Re: What's in your garden?
Our rarest visitors seem to be a lesser spotted woodpecker and a green woodpecker, and a small rodent (bigger than a mouse but seems smaller than a squirrel) which hasn't stayed in one place long enough to be identified. You can occasionally see bats at dusk too.
They all stay too far from the house to get decent photos though :(

Muntjac deer (Reeves Muntjac). Was quite surprised to see it in the back garden! They're apparently quite common in Hertfordshire now.

I'm currently on the Heriot Watt campus in Edinburgh, and I'll be graduating (again) later this year.

I had the Tamron 70-300mm before that, its a good lens in itself. Not quite as sharp as the sony G and suffers from purple fringing but still capable of great shots
I prefer to think the photo's quality is due to my l33t skills ;)
