    TV set up for parents

As the digital switchover looms, my parents are looking to buy a TV set up which will allow them to watch digital TV.

Currently they only have an old CRT TV and no recording facilities. I tried using a digibox in the past and the signal is reall poor to our house, although odly enough in one room it got signal and could tune to some channels but in the room where the TV is mostly used there was no signal at all. Both rooms are connected to the same aerial in the loft.

The equipment they need is a new TV, something less than 30" and either a new digibox and aerial installation or a freesat installation and box. They also want to be able to record TV so a PVR/receiver combination is desirable.

I have very little knowledge in this area so if anyone has any recommendations I would very much appreciate them. My mum is paying for it all and I think she has up to £700 to spend to cover everything including aerial/dish installation, everything else I can set up. She would like to spend less than that if possible.

    Thanks

    Andy

    Humax PVR FTW!

Ours is paired up with a 32" Samsung 720p TV, and despite being about 4 year old still looks awesome compared with the in-laws Virgin + Sony 1080p setup.
