    Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

Got the DVD yesterday in a brief bargain shop at Matalan....£4.99....had to have it.

Robert De Nero is good, Kenneth Brannagh better, but its just great to see John Cleese in such a serious serious role.

Its a bit "gruesome" but not in a deliberate in your face way....its not TRYING to hard..its just a nasty story, and sad too.....but the wierd thing is De Nero is not as good as you'd hope....his "Monster" is supposed to be intelligent, and itis....but he's not....as good as I'd hoped.

But Brannagh and Ian Holm and all the tradional British actors rocked

Frankenstein's Monster just shouldnt have an American accent

    But WORTH owning

It is a great film and for a useless bit of trivia mary Shelley lived just a little down the road from me and is buried in a local graveyard. Her husband was also a famous poet for those uneducated people out there.
