    Selling your photos?

    Say a band came up to me and asked to buy my photos i took of them.. how would i work out a pricing? how much would i charge? what's the going rate for this sort of thing?

    edit: also is there any paperwork?

    you need to make clear what you are selling is the rights for them to use the photographs, and that copyright remains your property..

    pricing is up to you, it all depends on the budget of the band tbh, some will happily pay 200 for a disc of 20 photographs, others will only be able to afford 60..

    you need to flick through your gig shots and take out the duplicates, start choosing just the winners

    thanks, i just needed a rough number to start with..

    when selling rights for them to use the photos, are there any written contracts that need to be signed?

    i usually include a read-me file on the disc, or if they're downloading the files, then they need to agree to the license on screen before they get the goods..
