    A Few TV Questions

What resolution and format do the following run at:

    • Analogue TV Broadcast (800x600? No idea how it is broadcast or 'decoded')
    • Digital TV Broadcast (MPEG2, same res as DVD?)
    • DVD (I'm fairly sure it's MPEG2 720x576 but no idea how widescreen works in that case)
    • VHS (320x240?)
    • VCD (MPEG, 320x240?)
    • SVCD (MPEG2, same res as DVD?)
    • DV Camcorder (same as DVD?)

I know it's a lot of questions, but it may help some people

Bindi's guesstimates from random info ive picked up around. Dont take my answers as anything near gospel as they are likely to be wrong.

    Analouge is 400x300
Digital TV *movies* are same as DVD, shows are probably 4:3 with 600x something iirc, depends if its PAL or NTSC - so some american shows shown on british TVs look fuzzyer.
    VHS is 400x300 or 320x240 i think
    DVD is 720x576, mpeg2

Edit: 576 is PAL, 480 is NTSC

SVCD can be either DVD size or smaller, standard sizes. DVD2SVCD has a list, i could tell u if i installed it if u REALLY wanna know.
DV depends on the camera and media. Sony have just developed and are tring to standardise 1080 and 720dpi camera equipment for TV/Movies at DVD res (720x576) iirc.
