    News - USB wall-socket tips up

    A US-based company is selling plug sockets which feature USB chargers, so users can charge their devices straight from the wall without needing a converter.

    But why did the image of someone trying to plug a laptop into the usb port and it going pop enter into my head....

    Seeing as how practically no-one has USB A male-male connectors, I suspect that's fairly unlikely

    However, if you got your hands on one, and plugged one computer into another, I reckon the PSUs fight

    I think USB is designed to detect if that situation arises. At the very least the voltage difference would likely make the hub's overcurrent protection kick in.

    Genius. Especially considering all mobile phones will be using USB chargers as standard in the next few years.
