Like the idea, but when my plug is only ~2m away from my PC which is almost always on... not for me

Seeing as how practically no-one has USB A male-male connectors, I suspect that's fairly unlikely
However, if you got your hands on one, and plugged one computer into another, I reckon the PSUs fight
I think USB is designed to detect if that situation arises. At the very least the voltage difference would likely make the hub's overcurrent protection kick in.
